I tend to have unfavourites rather than favourites.
Duende Flamenco has that stupid orchestra ruining three tracks. Fuente y caudal is slightly out of tune in the upper register (which I've been told is the guitar, not the guitarist).
Siroco (one c!) is great (although when it came out it seemed like Flamenco from Mars).
I've always had a soft spot for Canciones Andaluzas, simple though it be.
Well but as I told in past.. Its a pitty.. I can´t listen to it. If I do I get very bad luck... And my work depends very much on luck..so.. I cant listen to it till I got my PhD.. X.(
Almoraima. Beautiful guitar without the extraneous noise of other instruments that seems to permeate so much of flamenco today.
Cheers,
Bill

Fantasia Flamenca. Perfect from the first note to the last as far as solo guitar recording goes. Nice mix of orginal and inovation with traditional even "classical" flamenco guitar. Technique there is unsurpassed. Only thing is I would not have minded some palmas on the bulerias track, but still it is nice totally solo as well.
Duende is probably my second fav even though I agree the chamber orchestra gets in the way of a few cuts. But the solo pieces are fantastic, he still plays some of that Rondeña in Concert, and the bulerias has a truly magic sound and groove, a few crazy modern ideas in the middle. His all around best IMO.
Siroco is one I love the music, but the recording is lacking to me with tons of syrupy reverb and the guitar sounds like it is 10 feet away from the mic. The Rumba track is kind of cluttered too, and overall it is a short album. If it was beefed up with some of the tracks from Zyrab (buleria in C#, Taranta, Fandango, duo with manolo) I might put it at number 1 cuz the music is far a head of what he had done before, and is still current.
I meant "12 exitos para 2 guitarras". I guess it is "para" instead of "por". Don't speak Spanish. Sorry if you got confused. By the way, what is wrong with cheese? Do you know anybody that doesn't like it? :) Well I think flamenco is soul among other things. If only PDL's 70s/80s jazz mixed with flamenco could convey the pain, the social exclusion, tha passion, the fire, the love, the heroism and the manhood, then I would like his 70s work too. But it just doesn't do it for me.

I hate jazz...., I love flamenco.... so it has to "12 exitos por 2 guitarras".
12 exitos por 2 guitarras.... isn't that the one with strings? which is not only not flamenco but total cheese
but perhaps you meant "dos guitarras flamencas en stereo"?
maybe post up full title or album pic or track list to be clear?

you're not helping.... i still don't know which album you are talking about, and i have them all
maybe it's an import or compilation (i only have the original albums, never bothered with compilations as i have all the tracks already)?? release date? track list? cover pic?
That couldn't possibly be anyone’s favourite: he must certainly be confusing it with something else
exactly!! i only have it because flamenco-world sent it to me by mistake (back in the days when they actually sent out stuff people ordered from them) and when i emailed them they sent the cd i wanted and told me to keep the 12 hits cd as well for nothing (back then they used to reply to emails too)
