RE: Favorite PdL album? (in reply to mark indigo

Thanks for bumping this....I didnt know about "Canciones andaluzas para 2 guitarras" either...and I thought I had most of his stuff.

Overall if I had to pick just one album, my favorite work is Siroco but all the albums have material I like for different reasons.

RE: Favorite PdL album? (in reply to Ricardo

quote:

Fabulosa/Fantasia-traditional

Duende/Fuente y Caudal-personal compositional style based on tradition

Almoraima/Solo Quiero Caminar-experiment with outside influence

Siroco/Zyryab-Mature modern style

Luzia/Cositas Buenas-avant guard exploration

that's sort of the way I hear it too....

as an aside the little car I have now has a cd player (previous ones were still tape!),
so I make up compilations on disc to play, often just pairing two albums on one disc.

I go with your first two and last pairings,
but because of the production/sound I put Castro Marin and Siroco, and Solo Quiero and Zyryab.
Almoraima is a problem, I want to pair it with Fuente y Caudal, but I want to pair that with Duende....
