What is everyone talking about Fuste...

Give me your take on them, like, don't like, good quality, not so good, too expensive, etc. etc., would really appreciate hearing your thoughts on them.

Thanks in advance for any feedback on them.

Except for one set of Landstorfers and one set of Gotohs, all my guitars have Fusteros on them. Some are top of the line, fairly ornate, some middle of the road. All of them work well, though the Landstorfers are getting a little stiff. I think the talk about Fusteros may be as much about tradition as anything. Essentially all the Spanish makers used them for many years. Fustero recently went out of business, but may have come back, so those who are accustomed to using them are interested in how they might get new ones.

IMHO they are the most beautiful to see, well engraved and appropriate to whatever kind of guitar.
The drawback is that they are not as solid, smooth and precise as other more recent tuners: technically speaking a set of Gotoh at the same price are far superior.

They are synonymous with the spanish/flamenco guitar look so that's why you see them so often. Very nice aesthetics definitely but as others have mentioned you can find others that are smoother in tuning.

Thank you one and all for your thought on these, I just purchased a set, to stick with tradition.

Nice!
I love my Fusteros and the older one is as smooth as any Japan, German or American made I've ever tried. The newest one was made right before the shop closed but the prettiest of all. It looks almost three dimensional compared to the old one.

I wish I can post some pics from my iPhone but it's saying they're too large.
