ORIGINAL: koenie17

I think he says that he "transcribed" that from Paco and intends to record it. If this is the case, maybe someone who knows Paco's discography could tell us which song it is.

He says: When Paco Left us I took a little peace and recorded it on my new album.

I think he´s probably talking about "camino al alma"

quote:

that's incorrect too. @ 2:44 he says "saqué un pedacito cuando se fue"

trans: i wrote a little piece when he left us

Thats not correct, he means he learned(took) a litlle bit of something Paco composed.
Sacar literally means to take(something) so if I want to say I´m going to learn that falseta:

Este falseta me lo voy a sacar

No, davrom is correct...saqué un pedacito .... he brought out ie "composed" a little piece...
For yet to be released recording as camino came out 6 month before paco's death.

Yes, that's valid too. Some people think of their compositions in a less "ownershipish" way and they view them as pieces taken out of the big pot that is Music.

No Lenny, not that pot..

yeah, and one can think of "saqué" as i got it out of myself or even, i put it out there. but i still believe the most faithful translation is "i composed a little piece"

occasionally i watch a foreign movie with English subtitles, like from Argentina or something, and pay close attention to the translation. the best ones are NOT literal translations, but those that translate into phrases common to the 2nd language that are a close equivalent to the original language

for example, in Spanish I can say ¡Buenos Días! and translate it literally to "good day"

but the problem is that in English "good day" means "adiós" and ¡Buenos Días! is a greeting...hello!

the only way to understand this stuff is to speak both languages fluently

how would you translate "Olé"

You've just described the reason why I always go for the stuff (movies, series, etc) without subtitles.

My eyes "spasmically" look down at what is written and the bad translations distract me from the whole thing.
