RE: New videos Javier Conde!!! (in reply to amigo)
I wish I could! But I don't want to upset my Japanese friends who gave it to me. You can see a clip of him playing with Jin Oki on YouTube. It is from the same event.
In terms of Javier's playing, I can only compare it to Paco's Teatro Real concert.

quote:aeolus. It's a Conde so it is with some trepidation that I suggest too much sustain. Sounds all blurry to me. quote:

awesome and no excess resonance . Mus have been the recording.
.
Yep damn those low life's for uploading inferior quality video recordings on the internet....how dare they have the audacity to want to share pieces of musical perfection and blatantly insult us all by not investing thousands of £$€ etc...on the correct recording equipment. The least they could have done is contact everyone worldwide who has access to the internet and ask if its OK to upload footage that could have compromised sound/video. I don't know what the world is coming to?

That's the first thought I had when I listened to the first video

Jin oki is a very talented japanese guitarist. Discovered this guy years ago and loved his bulerias composition and his playing. He is definately jerez influenced. He also participated in the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco and was one of the best 4 participants.

Anyway, a (maybe) interesting nerdy observation i made is that the technique of Javier and Grisha seam to be very similar. Like the type of right hand position, thumb, picado, etc. Any reason for that or is it just coincidence and simply the similarity in size and shape of the hand which basically ends up with the same "result" which then looks totally similar (at least for my eyes)?

Javier's aesthetic is austere and extreme.
Yet I find his conviction compelling and inspiring. Truly inspiring. To see an aesthetic so fully realised is humbling and, humbled, I feel compelled to retrace his steps.
In doing so I hope to learn how to better realise my own musical goals.
If his aesthetic is different to mine then it is only because we are all different. For this example I feel true gratitude.

Does anyone know were that intro comes from? Vicente used to play it when he was 15 years old but i never was able to trace the original source.
... and what an intro.......quite awesome !!
There is a majesty of natural talent here which is truly stunning this I think ,makes comparisons irrelevant.
As guitarbuddha said above..... Quote ' I find his conviction compelling and inspiring. Truly inspiring.'. end quote.
What more could a player hope to realise.....and what more could a listener hope to gain!!
At this level ,a player has awesome days and fekkin mind blowingly awesome days ''compared''!! to us mere mortals.....so i guess, with flamenco guitar, you need to be able to ''walk the walk'' AND ''talk the talk'' to be invited to another country for a kick around with the local 'slinger' in the first place? ''Norbert'' can do this, and ''Barnaby'' can do that means jack shi te.....let's hope so ,otherwise they shouldn't be out there stroking their planks in public anyway. Popularity, invitation , the action of 'doing 'and the fact its a talking point have perhaps proved the point of their worthyness, the last bit which produces a ''tick'' or a ''cross'' from the end 'user'....the listener/viewer and is purely subjective?
Now I'm going back to my beer......perhaps a meandering and nonsense''rant'' but pleasing for me!! Really don't know if it makes any sense at all!!
