wow! That guy really can play! Even if it's the way it's supposed to be as the son of a legend.

Jeez he let PdL sign his Rayes. Well at least it should add 100 pesetas to it's
value.

Looks like a conde hermanos guitar to me... I have noticed quite a few famous guitarists have paco's signature on their guitars

Right! That particular rosette resembles the one on VA's Reyes.

bumping a 2 years old thread just to say that PdLs signature ruined the guitar (oh wait , its not a Reyes but a Conde, so it doesn't matter lol)

btw, if you really need to make the Reyes/Rosette/whatever point, here is the right video for you

Here in the US of A a Reyes will sell for twice what a Conde will. Glad PdL didn't write on that one. ;-)

They really should identify hijo by his real name or whatever he takes as a stage name.

In Spain amoung gypsies things are a bit different,,,, a Conde without PdL signature on top and Tomate signature on buttom (or viceversa if you prefer tomate ;), without lot of scratches, dings and dongs is worthless piece of never played and dead museum piece of nice looking wood for collectors who can't play and no one buys it.
Those guitars end up in vitrines, for tourists.

oh man, all these ruined 100 pesetas guitars ......

Hijo looks like he might be a gypsy with brown skin while papa...?
Maybe hijo's mother is a gypsy.

If hijo's parents are Spanish then Tomatito's offspring is not going to have brown skin unless...

Not trying to stir the pot but I find hijo and his fathers interaction on the video in the Conde shop most appealing and would like to know more about them.

Edit: from Wiki
José Fernández Torres, known as Tomatito (born Almería, 1958), is a Spanish Romani flamenco guitarist. Having started his career accompanying famed flamenco singer Camarón de la Isla

So a gypsy and having been born and raised on the Texas/Mexican border, I can say that at my high school the boys ranged from white to pale brown to dark brown so speculation is pointless. It is interesting though.

JOSÉ `El del Tomate`

Similar to tomatito hijo...

Sure will be a great guitarist just like other kids of famous flamencos...

He really looks swarthy here. It is or maybe used to be the Spanish custom to name the boys Jose and then whatever name they would use day to day and the girls Maria Also adding the father's name and then the mother's. A guy could get writers cramp signing his name! But maybe Gypsys don't follow that custom. My mother, proud of her Spanish/Mexican ancestors named her first 3 daughters Marie followed by the name they used and I never knew that until many years later as it was supposed to honor the mother and foster father of Jesus but it was forgotten shortly after baptism I imagine.
