I just came across a Conde bracing plan on ebay. I thought some of you might be interested. I haven't found any more information about it, but it looks like it was drawn by Raymond Wells.

Don't know about the quality of this particular plan, but don't buy from this seller. I've bought another flamenco guitar plan from him in the past (his nickname was savedbytheloveofjesus). It turned out to be a stolen LMI Barbero plan, some information where whitened out and the copy was very inaccurate - 650mm scale measured over 66cm ;)

Marlon Navarro has some low cost flamenco guitars on Ebay that they claim are made to Conde plan specifications, but I wonder if they are as good as Condes.
If I can ascertain that they are then I'm sure I want to get one of those, because that must be a steal at under $1000

My experience with the seller was the same. I bought a few plans a while ago, but the proportions were not accurate. Also, like you said, it looks like they infringed the copyrights from other plans.
As far as this Conde plan, I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. If anyone sees it somewhere else, please post a link.

Just yesterday I received my Marlon Conde copy cocobolo/cedar from the importer in Houston and it is absolut;ly stunning: flawless craftsmanship and after I ditched the crap Mexican Equinox strings for Saverez Cantiga, superb sound. It favors the treble which I like. It's only weakness a slightly dull B in the treble. I bought a real Conde a few years ago much better except the C was DOA so I returned it. But for $895 all up, a rare find.

You are so right. Re-reading the distributors email back and sides are Palo Escrito which apparently is the wood of choice in Paracho. As for the bridge, fingerboard and headstock veneer they are from a redish wood. This gives a nice unity to the design. Visually I never liked the idea of different woods for the 3 components. the rosette is subdued and doubtless at this price purchased. Over all a very handsome instrument.
I had just restrung the guitar and I spent a lot of time tuning so an abbreviated practice. . These I play daily for drill Sor Op.29 No.13; Etude Simples #6 Brouwer; Bach BWV 999;Recuerdos De La Alhambra. Pieces I am playing now. I play in rotation with others so not to get bored. Chick Corea Childrens Song No, 1 &2 ; Preludes by Domeniconi; a selection of easy pieces from The Enchanted Forrest by Claude Gagnon
No flamenco. I have bought several tutors but lack motivation.
I have just received a CD of Ramon Montoya. Wow!
What is surprising about the instrument is the strength of the treble especially the first string. That is rare in my experience.

well then why do you buy a conde copy FLAMENCO negra at all ?
and sorry to say that, but if you didn't play any flamenco , then you are not "qualified" to answer a question such as "is it as good as an original Conde".
Don't get me wrong. its not something personal against you or something. imo Even AL DI MEOLA or any other non flamenco player is not "qualified" to answer that question, although he plays one himself. You need to play certain flamenco techniques to be get that Conde sound out of a conde and to be able to say if it has that Conde feel and pulsation, otherwise even a $8000 Conde flamenco will simply sound like almost any cheap classical or flamenco guitar.
What you call "strenght" might be weakness if a flamenco guitarists would play that exact same guitar and vice versa, what you felt as weakness, might be exactly what a flamenco guitarist is looking for.

I wouldn't call $8000 cheap but it might be that to a man that drives a Ferrari. It may be that duff notes are acceptable to flamencos. But I hate them. It may be that flamencos don't want a "fat" sounding 1st. string. But that's the first thing I listen for. I am not trying to sell Marlon's guitars so I just gave an honest appraisal as I judge a guitar. No money back guarantee here. _____________________________

On further acquaintance it has more resonance than I expected. more than my cheap classical's. I may have to use flamenco strings to deaden the resonance. Also it's a cannon!

Not as much nuance as a classical but the sustain is good. It has a bright rather hard edged sound. Hell for $895 delivered to your door with one of those soft cases, good insulation if not ultimate protection a real bargain. As I remember the Conde I had was more refined. I really hated to return it I did work on Amigo's Morente but it had no strumming as I recall. The Conde I had was an AF25 which sells over here for a lot more than I paid for it.

The nicest classical I ever played was a Brinn Jones and it had great variety and a tremendous bass. Much better than the Fleta I tried.
By far the guitar with the most nuance and possibility for tonal variety was Jim Opfer's Ramirez flamenco. I still find this amazing because the action was so low I could hardly play it yet it just gives and gives and gives.

Do you mean Lewis Brian Hopkins Jones . Nothing like 2 middle initial. So veddy British. Lewis L.B. Jones. But he doesn't make guitars. What kind was it? One of the teardrop ones?
