Spring Challenge

In the challenges area, I am not able to post a new topic it seems. but maybe this is a good place for this discussion anyway.

Lets try if this works:

All members can submit a list in this thread, containing their favorite (max. three) palos for the Spring Challenge.

Your favorite gets 3 point, your second favorite 2 points and your third favorite 1 point.

Voting ends in one week from now at the 4th of March 2013 at p.m European time (Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid).

I am down for a (12 beat) palo that can be played a bit elasticly (without backing track)

Are we playing a recognized solo, creating new falsetas, back up ?

2 Alegrias (E)

3 Tangos

..................but also verdailes, solea , fandangos ........ etc , etc , etc , in fact any old load of old bulerias

Flamencito ..you cant post in the challenge area yet until you have a challenge sorted out , rules and tha, t and we are all fairly clear on what it is , then the powers that be will open a space for you .....

I would go with

Solea
Tarantos
Seguirilla

but I'm ok with other things , its good to play things that you wouldnt choose as well ...opens the mind...

it would be nice this time to try to organise a handful of 'official' judges .
and have somekind of playing level specified , or we all know whats gonna happen just by looking at who is in ....

I would like to put forward that it is a solo guitar piece this time ,,,..

1 x Mic
I x Guitar
1 x Player
1 x Take
0 x backing loops

I would allow some EQ tweaking though if needed..

If it's up to me the rules will be just to play in compas of the palo. Then it's up to everyone to give their interpretation of the palo, which can be a traditional or a more modern approach, or somewhere in between.

I Think this concept could be great for both beginners and advanced players. For beginners it can be hard to suddenly adapt to specific rules and for the advanced players it gives them all the freedom they want

1º means first, 2º means second, etc... I thought this also applied in English...

EDIT: Oh... sorry I forgot... you guys write 1st for first, 2nd for second, etc...
