RE: paco's group with a rapper (in reply to aleksi)
This may sound corny but I almost found this beautifully profound. People from such extremely different cultures (who probably couldn't even speak each other's languages) and they're just there, speaking the universal language of music.
OK I'll see myself out now before I dig out the esoteric literature and new age CDs.
On another note, I'd love to see a rapper on a bulerias rhythm...I guess Ojos de Brujo is the closest we have to it.
Cool in theory. Unbelievably annoying in practice after the first 10 seconds. Even more grating and repetitive than most rap.
Now break it down, astronomy, cosmology, astrology, it's all da same shiizzzznit to me, Si tu no tiene soniquete, pa' ka te mete, now I want to here ya SHOUT don't like what you see here white boy, get the funk OUT! awwww hell jess!!!
Seriously the looks on Duquende and the other guys faces is priceless....they dont' understand a damn word and all happy like "wow it's so autenico!!!! the real shizzzznit." Makes you wonder how spanish aficionados feel when uninformed americans or whoever go to spain and see some mediocre flamenco and are simply amazed.

At least those guys are clapping in compas - better than when uninformed Americans go to Spain and start doing tourist palmas!

But the point is, it seems pretty authentic to me. I think the guy does a nice job.

i rewatched the video
I did too and the beginning part from 0:02 to 0:03 where the rapper is doing the pose and the look on his face is the best part. That was great actually.

And a fun time was had by all,,,,,,,,, it's just some guys messing about while getting a burger really isn't it ? .. you either like rap or you don't , but if Pacos group wasnt involved then the vid wouldn't be here,,a little bit of contratiempo clapping in A-capella- impro-rap ...might work might not , looks like a fun thing to try though
