Those uber-high-quality multi-layered samples you're talking about are created by major instrument companies for use in high-dollar instruments with broad market appeal. Until someone with the R&D capacity of Korg, Kurtzweil, Yamaha, Nord, Roland, Kawai, etc. decides to build a flamenco iPod app (and sell it for a few bucks a pop, at most), Dr. Compas is probably as good as it gets.
