Enrique de Melchor has passed away

What's with all the flamenco deaths in the past year? Geez

I guess he wasn't talked about much here but from what I understand he was a solid fixture in Spain and I liked his Encuentro vid as well.

I was watching his petenera and serrana the other day and for some reason, I had a feeling that he wont last too long

. I hope we dont witness the death of another great flamenco this year....

Did I not just warn you about your present course of action regarding that palo. Consider this example 1. Keep on with it and see what more good stuff happens.

Anyway, I feel lucky to have met him back in 2007 in Madrid after a concert. I have stated several times on the foro that he was always under rated as a player. His album Cuchichi is still one of my favorites for guitar solo. Great sound and tons of duende on that disc. Also a duet with PDL por fandangos on a later disc was very special where they trade solos on the coplas. My favorite video of him is this with his dad....reminds me of my father and I when I was a young punk playing metal guitar and trying to show off my speed....but a big difference is that Enrique has more then just technique, he really was a high level artist even back then and his dad so proud. RIP maestro.

Cuz he does not get mentioned so much as an important figure. Also, he borrows maybe too much from PDL repertoire, but I think that is fine. He is up there with Tomatito, Nuñez, Chicuelo, vicente and all the Caño Roto guys IMO as a player. But he doesn't get the same recognition generally.

Holy Crap! I cannot believe this. He was one of my favorite players and to see this is such a downer. He was so underrated as a guitarist like Ricardo stated. RIP Maestro.

Also this tangos in rondena tuning.
A little part of it is tab on the Encuentro book. I tried to learn it, a couple of month ago but i gave up...

Really unforgetable...

I hope that he knows about the legacy that he has left, and that he is an important part of many peoples lives, If he somehow could know I would tell him that he is a person that can heal souls and inpire.
