All right then Paco, Rafa Cortes and a couple of other freaks of nature out there.
Most of us will never get that kind of sound by picado so using 3 finger technique instead gives a very nice effect that even mortals like me can hope to achieve!

Agreed.

For alternative picado techniques, check here from 2:40 to 2:48, then 3:00 to 3:23 where I believe he uses p-i-m for that effect...

Even Grisha admitted to me when I asked him if he was as fast as Paco, replied NO.....To me that's really scary.....

question is, would he dare to say at all he is faster, if that was true.

Sorry but he is not so clean and controlled as Paco. Speed is about rhythm first. Pushing past your control limits is not so impressive. Paco NEVER does this.

I have seen him play with his Nephew BAnderas.....that guy can go a notch or two faster then Paco I believe. Others are standing right up to him but not necessarily surpassing....Cerreduela Antonio Rey, those are two I have actually seen that can do it literally the same. But imagine having to sit next to Mclaughlin and Dimeola all those concerts and keep it up all the time....I am not sure we have a sub for that PDL guy!

Luckily FLAMENCO is not about how fast your picado is. Luckily....

That is not a gold card to not practice now!!!! Everyone should be striving for personal excellence and not get let down by the plain fact that they won't be "as fast as" guitarist X. But it is no excuse either for being lazy.

RE: Technique question - WE ARE DOIN... (in reply to Ricardo

ofcourse someone will touch pacos speed ...anything that one human has done can be recreated by another imo.....not any and not every but it can be done again

there's plenty of fast and faster people but the staccato, clarity and sound is what sets Paco apart...however is not impossible as long as you have 2 hands and the time, ambition and heart to match it.....speed only matters to a certain extent perhaps to get their attention...eventually u have to say something...but even if its true il never subscribe to the idea that anything one person does is out of the reach of another

not one single guitarist was born an expert...they all got there exactly the same way anyone here can
