hey guys, it has been long time. Can someone help me to find good examples of the traditional melodies? Because in the modern way of cante the original melodie is sometimes far away but I like to learn the real basic touch? I have the merengue de cordoba books but It's sometimes to brief to fully understand the palos melodie..... Like for instance the 'tango de triana' last about 30 seconds in the video of merengue de coroba but when I listen to melchor de marchena his tangos de triana it is totally different, so.....
If someone can help?

So you have already Merengue DVD part ii??? That is about as concise as you can get for having all the main basic melodies. From there you just have to dig in deep, compare the same palo for many different singers. Study one at a time. It will take many years unfortunately, and money spent on recordings, there are no short cuts to listening to music. Be thankful for that merengue compilation.
I also have a "guide to Andalusian flamenco", they have one in English and in Spanish, the people at Andalucia.org. Not sure if you can still get that travel guide, but it had 2 CD's with tons of exemplary cantes....yeah each one is about 30 seconds to a minute. Again, exemplary versions don't tell the whole story so you have to compare to other singers. Sorry man, that is why aficionados of cante are quite proud to know their singing even though it is just about their record collection.
Another one is the Magna Antalogia collect of CDs. Good luck man.
thanks for your answer. So now I know that it's not me, it's just normal to not fully uinderstand why a melodie is different from cantaor to another cantaor. Ofcourse it's interpreted different....... Or you have to study a lot with a lot of cd's and try to listen as good as you can when you accompagny a cantaor....And I am really thankfull for the merengue de cordoba II .
