TAR - The traditional iranian instrument
Farsi (with english subtitles). Not really a video but pictures and an interview with a famous Tar builder in Iran: Maybe interesting for you, maybe not......

I find it quite wonderful and encouraging that builders of traditional instruments, (including the guitar) still have people desiring their work rather than spending the money on an HD Plasma TV and HDD/DVD Recorder. Things like that give me hope for the human race.
cheers,
Ron

You are joking - of course it was interesting. It was fascinating!! Amazing instrument and what a great guy - you could tell how much he puts into each instrument.
I have been interested in world music for years, and go to every world music festival in UK I can and I am sad to say I have never heard a tar being played. Thanks Arash
