Did you see the 'Time to Upgrade' thread by Simon? You write as if you haven't.
I looked for this just now but no joy. Can you post a link please 🙏
- I don’t think a subscription is te nest solution. - I think the DONATE button needs to be a little more in the face, where it is now it’s easy to ignore ;) -wouldn’t hurt to have a reminder date muting when a year is up from the last donation?
-not having new members is a buzz kill for sure that needs to be corrected ASAP or the site will certainly die.
-i know we have a number of pro luthiers and players but never see any adds for their services? Does the ad function work. I build and sell guitars, guess I should look into it ;)
- I get the feeling that Simon is moving on and an absenty landlord of sorts, perhaps it’s time for him to hand it off to someone directly engaged with the Foro? Ricardo I’m looking at you 🤷🏽
-not sure what happened to Stephan Faulk but for his faults he was a pleasure to have around and for him to not be able to re-login is telling. Wouldn’t be the first time he’s been kicked off a foro so perhaps there’s more to the story?

he could not log back in, he tried several methods. Romerito also reached out to me that he could not login nor create a new account.

No, I haven't. I'll look for it. But I'm inclined to say 'so what?' I was trying to catch the moment. Rather like Keir Starmer and his attempt to introduce identification papers to the UK. Very popular until he, the most unpopular politician since (too many) tried it. Dead in the water. I did notice the Donate button at the top. For various reasons I am often in the departures lounge of leaving, so haven't donated. But I would subscribe.
I don't think that precludes discussion of a subscription, unless Simon specifically objected to the idea in his post.
Somewhere in recent posts it has been recommended posters look in the rest of the foro (using the useless Search function) for their answers before posting. Thereby not being encouraged to engage. This satisfies the research group (in their bedrooms), whilst disincentivising the social interaction group (in their juergas). God knows how the antinecro lot think of it (or where they are). I no longer have anything to say about flamenco other than 'great!' and enjoy interaction.
On the matter of high risk members Mr Ernandez, did you know Charles Vega? There was a man whose subtlety was not only lost in posts, but strangled and left on the side of the road. But like the missing expert/troll had a lot of useful information. Then there was the shifting sands of The Man from Huelva. Such days! All gone now!
I'd also support Ricardo taking over the running of everything. He has the time I'm sure. Then we can at least look forward to everything being in capitals.

It’s time to upgrade and migrate
Enough is enough, struggling with costs, old software and dodgy email sending. I’m going to look into custom coding to migrate us to a modern platform and cheaper storage. I need some time and another round of donations would really help me.
Over to you and watch this space.
This? Ask AI. That'll be fun.
Again, I don't see what this has to do with Subscription? I'll make a donation in the interim however, but I won't tell anyone. Damn.

HEY FAULK! Delete your darned COOKIES!
I've had login problems numerous times since I joined the Foro. Making sure all browser tabs, etc... are closed then deleting the cookies always fixed it. It's also happened to me on one device and I could log in on another, so HEY Mr FAULK!...Could you see if you can log in using the browser on your phone or a device with a different browser? If that works then it's likely the cookies (or if the other device has a different browser, in which case the problem might be browser specific).
The problem I've been having these days is the site isn't "https" and the latest iPad and iPhone OS26 safari browser automatically swaps the "http" with "https" then of course hangs until some stupidly long counter times out. Frustrating but not really the fault of the Foro, I blame Apple. My old iPad running an older OS still works fine but I seldom use it since I got the new one. I wonder if that has something to do with Stephen's problem (his browser updated and is now having problems with the older formats?).

Here is how ChatGPT talks to me when I ask questions. It emphasises more than Ricardo

I already donate one great British pound per month and have been for quite a while. I tried to encourage other members to do the same but I don't know if they did. I was hoping it would help if 30 members did this, but in reality Simon probably needs a fair bit more.

I wouldn’t mind a DM from Simon that said something like this:
HAY HR YOUR LAST DONATION WAS 12 MONTHS AGO, REALLY APPRECIATED THAT $500, THANK YOU COULD MAKE ANOTHER IN 2026?
To be honest I don’t recall the last time I donated, I know I have to the guy on here with all the flamenco sheet music with sound clips some a few moths ago (don’t recall his name)
