I've got this Callous on outside corner of right thumb right at the corner of my nail. It's anoying to say the least and wondering if anyone has this and what I might do besides just lopping it off with the nail clippers. I've sanded it off a few times with a nail file.
Could be I'm using too much flesh instead of the nail? Wrong angle of attack so I'm using more flesh then nail?
The good sign is I get it when I'm playing a lot ;)

I prefer my flamenco guitar spicy, doesn't have to be fast, should have some meat on the bones, can be raw or well done, as long as it doesn't sound like it's turning green on an elevator floor.

I agree with Stu, maybe Ricardo will post a picture of his thumb nail shape.
Although I knew an old school guitarist from the DC area and he actually wanted a massive callous on the side of his thumb. Not my cup of tea as far as the color of sound it produces.
Didn't you guys read/see the thread last year? Moose stomps HR, HR eats moose, not the other way around.
In the end I just took a thin sanding stick with 220grit and polished the callous off.
The problem was the callous was hooking the string and then the string was making a dent in front of the callous. Something like that.
I had some chance experience playing with oil on my fingers, don't recall the exact situation, but recall it really helped and realized that was why the pro players kept a small blob of Vaseline somewhere on the guitar to replenish throughout the show.
Of course was rocking some solid fingernails and then snapped the middle off crushing some picado and the index making a bed :/ Back to the fake nails again...
