Felah Mengu

Hey Foro!
My Berlin based Flamenco-Group Azuleo is going to released their fourth studio album on April 15th 2021. Here is a little "Making of", recorded in late 2019 right before corona destroyed our release plans for 2020... so finally we are very happy to announce "Felah Mengu". Was watching this this morning at the last half hour of my PT routine: 20 min on the bike/spinner. As I was peddling away a got goosebumps during the last half then almost cried during the lone shot of the empty stage...

Made me think of all the struggling artist and others struggling. ****, can't even get a bartending are waitressing gig today, not even dishwashing for the gas money to get home...

Anyway it was cool to listen to and watch.

Your band? You play? Your mates?

Yes this is the group I play with since ten years. I am the guy who plays the Bass. And I also do the recordings... hope that stages won't be empty anymore soon ;-)

We listened to an earlier album on Spotify while I was taking my time stringing up one of the guitars I had finished shellacking.

Pro level bass player and guitarist, studio owner, producer, engineer, promising guitar maker....I think we can add modest to the list, as well.

Question: are you planning on using any of the other streaming services, such as Apple Music? I did a search on your band on apple and Iggy Somebody-or-other kept popping up, instead.

It's a bit confusing because at the moment not all Albums are available on all streaming platforms... and you are right, Apple Music seems to be Azuleo-free. We didn't care so much about that because it's such a slavery... but yes, things changed and we need to care about Spotify playlists and stuff like that...

We are extremely happy to announce the release of our 4th album Felah Mengu, recorded in Berlin in 2019 & 2020. This album is very special for us, as we celebrate ten years band´s existence this year. Become a part of our celebration!

"Felah Mengu" refers to the old arabic words meaning "peasant without land", one of the origins of the term Flamenco. Inspired by this spirit, we present ten new songs full of power, rhythm, colours, mystery and flair. Rumbas, bulerías, tangos and a lot of surprises.
