I'd personally stick with the LaSonanta master class DVD's and Encuentro vs. this. Great material you can have a tangible copy of and very affordable for what you get.

I must say I viewed the price increase (and the dozen or so spam emails I received out of the blue in the week running up to it) with great cynicism. Responses/Posts here don't do anything to boost my confidence either. Shame, as the content looked good and I was considering jumping in... at the previous price.

Please note that last October we’ve informed all of our students of the reason for the price increase and we also offered everybody one last chance to purchase the courses for the low price we charged during the development phase. For the record, here’s the link: https://onlineflamenconet.lpages.co/anniversary-2018/ (1:38)
I’d be more than happy to tell you about our future plans for new content at low rates rather than answering questions from people who speculate about Online Flamenco going down but since this would be considered as promoting our company I won’t share any details here.
Anyway, we take our work seriously and if, god forbid, the website should ever go down, then of course the content would still be available to all of the students would put their trust in our company. I’ll leave it to this, but I hope this reassures everyone and wish you all a great weekend.

Back in the day an Encuentro tape was ~ 100 euros for 90 min of packed in material. A steal! Even 200 euros would be a good deal. But 400 euro for a 90 min video with paco Serrano or Javier Conde, not so much (for me anyway)
But, that said, maybe that’s why we don’t have Encuentro videos anymore... that and YouTube

won't say names but a lot of online content providers, and some flamenco teachers do not update the websites after a period of time. it comes down to it, whether you value or use the material enough to warrant paying the 25-35$ per month for the subscription.
I know a big martial arts instructor who has roughly 500 online subscribers paying 25$ a month, and there has been no update material in over a year, the library of material is huge, but that's nearly $12,500 per month in pure profit. obviously there is some churn, people coming and leaving, but being honest that's a huge revenue stream per month.
Last production by Encuentro was miguel angel cortes's dvd, which is over 8 years now at this stage.

A problem I’ve found with Encuentro is that if you bought the bought the book/videotape package, there’s no way to replace the videotape with a DVD without repurchasing the whole package.
Encuentro would certainly have got more of my money if they’d made that possible.

agreed, though i picked up a few 2nd hand on ebay. honestly, Encuentro did a huge service to the community by filming those players at that time frame and producing that material.
