quote:
"In contrast to the US, many countries reserve the term "doctorate" for research degrees and if, as in Canada and Australia, professional degrees bear the name "Doctor of ...", etc., it is made clear that these are not doctorates. Examples of this include Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and Juris Doctor (JD)" Yikes.. MDs cut down to size In the US one can obtain a "Doctor of Education" degree from Colleges of Education within a university. It has always seemed to me that it is an attempt by those who go into education to elevate themselves to the self-perceived level of a PhD. It doesn't work. The research required is nowhere near as demanding as that required for the dissertation and its defense in the case of a PhD in just about any field. But then ours is a society that gives out trophies to every kid on a team just for showing up. Bill

Exactly i didn't come here to discuss my degree it's just an introductory message haha. That's fine, dude, but I'm an MD and Lebanese and I can hook you up with teachers in your area if you're interested, and I'm a curious chap so I am interested in understanding more about your degree (which has nothing to do with flamenco, but it has to do with me getting to know you as a fellow health professional, Arab, and flamenco enthusiast, so this is more about us getting to know each other as a whole and not just about flamenco - of course, only if you're interested). Salam, khayyi!
