So does that mean you're a PharmD or not?

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_of_Pharmacy#Saudi_Arabia :

"The Pharm.D degree is now offered by almost all pharmacy colleges in Saudi Arabia. This is a transitional period as this degree will replace the conventional Bachelor of pharmacy degree in near future and the old bachelor's degree will be phased out. "

And from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctorate#Types :

"In contrast to the US, many countries reserve the term "doctorate" for research degrees and if, as in Canada and Australia, professional degrees bear the name "Doctor of ...", etc., it is made clear that these are not doctorates. Examples of this include Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and Juris Doctor (JD)"

Meaning he is correct in what he said.

BTW Yikes.. MDs cut down to size

Zyied,

(My spell check tried to defeat me)
I see you posted your intro just some minets before I did. Welcome.

Guessing you didn't come here to discuss your degree program and studies ;)

So,what flamenco piece are you working on? I'm starting late in life and am playing with technique for now, three finger rosgueo mostly.

Thinking Arabia is as far from alaska in every way, except for guitar of course.

In the US one can obtain a "Doctor of Education" degree from Colleges of Education within a university. It has always seemed to me that it is an attempt by those who go into education to elevate themselves to the self-perceived level of a PhD. It doesn't work. The research required is nowhere near as demanding as that required for the dissertation and its defense in the case of a PhD in just about any field.

But then ours is a society that gives out trophies to every kid on a team just for showing up.

Here in saudi arabia its very rare that they care about flamenco in any shape or form because they kinda don't know anything about it...maybe.
Very hard to get tutors because you won't find any, so learning on my own
And i think i didn't mention that but im Egyptian who "Lives" in saudi arabia. Im not actually a saudi myself haha.

That's fine, dude, but I'm an MD and Lebanese and I can hook you up with teachers in your area if you're interested, and I'm a curious chap so I am interested in understanding more about your degree (which has nothing to do with flamenco, but it has to do with me getting to know you as a fellow health professional, Arab, and flamenco enthusiast, so this is more about us getting to know each other as a whole and not just about flamenco - of course, only if you're interested). Salam, khayyi!

Haha in what area do you live in lebanon? I used to have alot of lebanese friends back in high school. They were from beirut, tyre, byblos, baalbek, and nabatieh 👌 but they all went back to lebanon and i stayed in KSA 😂
PharmD. Degree basically replaces the old Pharmacy degree because the old one was lacking much in the therapeutic area.
The old was a 4 years program. The PharmD. Is 6 years and you become a general doctor in clinical pharmacy. Just like MD, a general doctor of medicine. One thing to mention, not all countries offer that degree but im sure it's been there in Lebanon for a long time. They used to hire PharmD.'s from Lebanon specifically because it was the ONLY arab nation that offered a PharmD. degree😂
I'd be interested in learning flamenco, khayye😁

Every guitar trio needs an Al Di Meola so...

Welcome to the foro, I shouted from a distance as I was running away from the Di Meola fans. ^^

I am from Beirut, but now I live in Nashville, Tennessee in the USA but I know some good players in the Middle East that I can connect you with if you're interested. They can teach you via Skype to get the basics and they'll probably be very affordable.

Vamos!
