Ah well, there was a fantastic passion there, in my case anyway. I discovered flamenco very early on. It grips you in a way that you can't get away - Paco Pena

Seems to be a Francisco Navarro García with Antonio Rey's initials on the head...
Dang, Navarro is copying Manuel Reyes even better than Blackshear if this is true...I thought for sure that was just a Reyes as he has used in the past.

No, no it is a Cordoba Reyes model with a truss rod - every flamenco guitarist dreams of having one.

At a concert here in Austin a few weeks ago there was a display of guitars by a fairly well known dealer here in Texas. I talked to him for a little while. He didn't have a Navarro on the display in the lobby, but said he had one in the van and offered to get it so I could try it out.
I didn't think I would learn much playing in a noisy lobby at a concert intermission, so I didn't go for it. The dealer talked enthusiastically about the Navarro, but when I told him I had a Blackshear Rodriguez model classical, but said nothing more about it, the dealer toned down the Navarro talk a good bit.
Still, I hear enough good things about the Navarros that I am seriously considering driving down to Houston to try some out. Driving, because I would take another guitar or two to compare, which to me is the only way to make a valid comparison in an unfamiliar room.

How do you know this is a Navarro? Could it not be just a Reyes or a Reyes hijo? The rosette seems to be the "green one" used by Reyes: basically it's a Japanese copy of a famous Gerundino rosette that Manuel started using in the late 80ies. Antonio was seen playing different guitars in recent years (Reyes Hijo negra, Conde Gravina, Conde Felipe, Jeronimo Perez, Lester DeVoe negra and a Reyes blanca gifted to him by Vicente). No matter the guitar, he plays always as Antonio Rey: flawlessly and 'con alma"..

It's called "Dos partes de mi" and comes out on June 30:
Today is the day! But I can't find it available online anywhere. In fact I don't see mention of it anywhere :-( I've checked De Flamenco, El Flamenco Vive, La Sonanta, as well as the big box stores that usually don't have much Flamenco.
Does anybody know where we can buy real CDs of this, not just downloads?
I suspect that the June 30th date in the videos may have been aspirational? Although those videos were posted just a few weeks ago so perhaps not...

I heard back from De Flamenco, sounds like they don't have it on their radar:

Aún no tenemos información de distribución comercial sobre el nuevo disco de Antonio Rey. Últimamente son los artistas los que autoeditan sus discos y su distribución comercial se hace especialmente difícil. No obstante procuraré buscarlo para su inclusión en nuestra tienda. No te puedo asegurar cuando estará.
Thanks Mark - I saw that "presentation" advertisement but just thought it was a concert in support of the new record. You're probably right that the album will be released after that, since there seems to be absolutely zero mention of it anywhere online besides that video Rey posted.
I know Riqueni's latest came out recently, but the "presentation" for that was a long time ago? Sounds like it - ha!
It's interesting how difficult it can be to find release information for Flamenco recordings. In so many other genres of comparable popularity/obscurity, release information, and discographic information in general, seems to be much easier to come by. I wonder why?

well, honestly, I have no idea, just a guess really! Could be the album comes out before the presentation..... or after.....

could be something to do with the culture of the country in question.....?
