Hi all, I may be spending some time in Sevilla soon, and wanted to look up a few good luthiers. Of course, there's Francisco Barba. But do any of the excellent builders who frequent here know of any others there? Anders, maybe you have a suggestion? Thanks in advance - HH
RE: Good luthiers in Sevilla (in reply to Morante)
Hadn't thought to ask in the tourist office, but will try that.
Was hoping for recommendations of builders that some of the players or builders here had high opinions of. Beltri, have you played guitars from Fernando Rodriguez and Felipe Diaz? Haven't heard of them, but will look them up.
Have heard of and seen quite a few second hand guitars from Jesus de Jimenez but never played them. Has anyone here played one?
Apparentely he's a loyal admirer of the style of Barba. Maybe his guitars are more affordable versions of a Barba? (Last I exchanged an email with Barba his blancas were 6900 Euros,)

Look up Francisco Morales 'el Pulga' who teaches at the Taller Flamenco on Calle Peral; he pretty much knows everything happening with the guitar in Sevilla -- and if you do, please say hello from Jared in New York.
Jared, thanks for the tip, and sorry to be so late getting back. I'll definitely stop in and look for him, and will tell him you said hello. BTW, did you ever sell that Raya? Trying to sell a few myself, but was curious.
