This phrase has been the linchpin running throughout this thread. In an attempt to trace it to its source, I have scoured old texts written in the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian cunieform wedge-shaped script. I think I have at last deciphered the provenance of the phrase.
Apparently Salome, she of the Seven Veils, was dancing her Dance of the Seven Veils before a wealthy Babylonian merchant. After disposing of six of her veils, the merchant, eyeing her thinly veiled body lasciviously, attempted to impress his own unwashed mass upon her. Linguists have concluded that as this tale was deciphered and transmitted from Babylonian into Akkadian and, finally, Aramaic, the original was somehow interpreted as, "a thinly veiled attempt to impress the unwashed masses."
Other sources link Salome with John the Baptist. Perhaps it is all myth.

Anyway sorry for the brevity of my post I have to get move on or I will be late for the service at the mud church (where we look at footprints through rose coloured spectacles).
I have a good sense of humor but sometimes it goes right past me. But this issue has always been about helping my fellow man. I never expected to get rich building guitars. I'm sure you understand.
I hope you get to go to Spain to work on this project. Or just to make the trip, that would be fabulous. I've said it a few times that I applaud you for taking your business to Spain where the guitar came from instead to taking it to China where they would just treat it like another product to build.
In the beginning how you explained the order of doing things, tuning, labels was kind of difficult to understand, but I just let it unravel to see if you were talking jive, or really going to do it. The only thing I see that is problem is all the fuel spent jetting these guitars around, perhaps there is some way to stream line the order of assembly. Then again many products reach the consumer after a lengthy and circuitous journey so that may just be business today.
I'll keep my finger crossed you go to Spain: it's better in the Fall and Winter because the locals are not inundated with tourists and the heat is gone.
I started this as a thought to improve my economy and give back to Spain what I learned from their master builders' works. It has been quite some time since I visited Spain; 1965 for 3 months to Madrid, and I saw and experienced quite a bit, even met Laurence Tierney who played in the '41 Dillinger movie,(Black and white). He stayed with us for a time while getting back on his feet and then going on to star in an Italian monster movie after I had left Spain. I read some of his short stories...he was a brilliant play-write.
It's debatable whether I'll be able to go for a visit but I would look forward to it if things go right, health wise.
I understand the traveling back and forth with the guitar, and the cost with that part of it will be condensed in the factory by Manuel, under his label.
Tom, I must admit I was a skeptic when you first described your venture with Manuel Adalid. It looks like you have followed through and it is moving in the direction you anticipated. Here's wishing you all the best in this project.

Manuel is a humble man and I was very happy to meet with him to discuss this venture concerning a new model for his factory. I feel it will be worth his time and effort.
The last two models took very little fine tuning in my home this past week, and it appears that Manuel's learning curve on this project is surprisingly fast.
My fine tuning is really just a tweaking method that can be used alongside other methods to finalize a guitar's voice. It can be used in conjunction with, or by itself.
The major part of it is to develop intuitive skill, as you learn how to create a synergistic communication of the fan braces for total balance and harmony. This is characteristic for all fan braced guitars but it is individually managed, as all guitars are different to some extent.
I welcome another visit from Manuel sometime later this year, to continue with our association and further business arrangement.
Just had the opportunity to look inside a new Antonio Marine cedar top classical guitar...it is closely related to the Robert Bouchet, French builder but has slight modifications that show Marines own style. The slight parabolic fan bracing seems to create a singing edge to the sound, with a pyramid top to the braces rather than rounded like the older Bouchet method. Same pyramid with the higher bar under the bridge but lower on the bass side and a little higher toward the treble.
It seems that the bridge was glued to the top and then the top was sanded out from the bridge area to finalize the tone, with top thickness being about 2.2 mm in the center to about 2.0 mm or more toward the edges.
My sales agent loves this guitar but I like a more stoic sound like the Miguel Rodriguez, with its more distinct bass and earthy trebles. But thank God we have so many guitar styles to choose from.
Is there anyway you can cajole your agent into a picture of the Marin bracing? I've always loved his guitars. I understand he made a trip to Paris to visit with Bouchet when he was young.

Me has always been curious about how Antonio Marine´s guitars are. ( I suspect him among potential builders of a guitar that got me on fire long ago. [ Hermanos C, Hernandez, Marine and whatever might have sounded `like German´to me in my times of complete cluelssness.])

Yes, they are somewhat hollow trebles and basses with a lyrical edge. I think this is due to the way he graduates his tops, along with the design. I can achieve something similar to this with the Rodriguez design as it turns out reedy and sort of hollow. Some people like that but I prefer it to be more clearly stated with very clear notes and a little hollowness in the basses.
I think the thin 1/8" high parabolic fan braces detract a little from the guitars potential power but it is enough to satisfy most players. It seems that a certain character of a guitar's tone will always project well; usually from the middle register.

I´m sorry to have changed the topic of this thread. I think it was my subconsciouness that did so. Maybe its because I find that this thread is a kind of "fishy"?? It can be difficult to understand what your subconscious self is trying to say. But I think it was what happened.
