Guitar in general, girls to guys. Girls just aren't as into the guitar as guys are. Maybe they think they're being tom-boyish by playing guitar so it deters a lot of them.
Haha I wasn't trying to steal you the credit or anything. It's just that the first time you posted the video off her accompanying a soleá por fandangos, I asked if anyone knew her name because I wanted to hear more of her. Now you also posted another video of her and it has her name on the title. So thanks a lot for that! And keep looking for more like her!

Yeah...but youtube seems to be manufacturing dozens of amazing looking and amazing sounding female Classical guitarists these days. There seems to be as many good female players as male in the classical world now. The reason that there are not many female flamenco guitarists is just that up until recently flamenco families only encouraged the girls to sing and dance. Im pretty sure we will see more and more good female players in the next few years.
In the classical world these are a couple of my favorites.
I know I mentioned this earlier on another thread, but Charo once equated eating with sex by noting that "Spooning leads to forking."
It's something you would expect Charo to say, even better with her accent.
Cheers,
Bill
