Thanks for organizing all of this. I have a friend who is an accompanist in Esperanza Fernandez's school in Sevilla, I can ask him if he'd be willing to give a class, join us for a juerga, etc - if you think it would be a good idea...

It definitely includes great accommodation and there is no profit here, so I am at the bones on this. I spoke to the rental agent tonight and they have our brief to work on.
It may creep a little but if we get at least 20 people, it should still be a fantastic deal.

In addition to classes with our own Ricardo...
1. I have confirmed that Stephen Hill (luthier and forum member) will be coming to give us an illustrated talk on guitar making. We also have the option to visit his workshop in La Herradura, which would make a great day out. A sweeter guy, you have not met.
2. He is going to work on bringing a talented, young cantaor with him from Málaga who is up for trying out some accompaniment with the braver souls amongst you. We'll work out some material with Ricardo that you can prepare in advance and make sure that the cantaor gets a heads up well beforehand. Homework already!
3. I am working with Estela (Zata on the forum) to bring her group over from Jerez to give a talk about flamenco (she speaks at conferences and writes for several respected publications) and an informal, lively juerga. We will be cooking up a huge paella to her excellent recipe and you will also get my chilled tortilla española thrown in.
Starting to look good people. Booking forms for deposits will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks. This needs to be put to bed early to avoid disappointment.

Double room with a smaller cot should not be a problem but they would have to put up with our noise into the wee hours so I'll see if we can get you into one of the satellite houses.
I am aiming for a big villa as our main base and satellite houses for extra accomodation.
There may be a modest extra charge for the wife. OK?

Right now, we are doing ok but I would like to hold that option in reserve, if I may? Unless he wants to come down for an evening for the laughs. We can run to fuel money, free beer, wine, food and a bed for the night

Levels are not sorted out yet but there will be something for everyone, whatever level. Dance has not been decided yet and I am unsure of the level of interest but watch this space. Everyone is welcome!

Pleased to be invited. Looking forward to sharing my passion for my life as a luthier! I would welcome also a visit to my shop down on the coast in La Herradura, where we can also have some fresh sardines and swim in the med, (for the tough ones)

I also would like to come.. Well it depends very much on a girl (like always eh..). If she ditches me.. I won´t spend all my money to see her and could join the bootcamp. But somehow... I would prefer to see her. I´m sure you guys understand... Hmm.. but my luck with women recently tell me,.. we guys meet up in Jerez. haha....awwww :/

Ron is really sending something special to the Foro, from wherever he is now… and that is you, Simon, you have been a wonderful guide throughout the years I have known you, but under the circumstances you have brought out a new and compelling side of your personality, your invaluable charismatic leadership.
These plans sound wonderful, really. I most likely cannot make the entire term of the camp, but can manage an appearance for a two/three day stay (if I can, and will, manage to tack-in some other business trip.
What a heartwarming image; ‘just the thought of it, of meeting with many of the members here, as I write it, chokes me up in a childish happiness I only remember feeling when approaching the candy-cotton scented air of a summer amusement park.

Kind words GJ, it's really good to have your support. I'll be able to find you a room if you can come and join us for some excellent Spanish wine, brandy, a few stogies and lots of laughs. The flamenco, food and company is going to be pretty good too.
Flights can be very reasonable from London Stansted or Gatwick to Málaga and we might be able to pick you up or you get a rental (90 mins drive). Direct flights to Granada have been curtailed since 2008, but you can go via Madrid for around $300. Then we can definitely pick you up.

I think this is a wonderful idea and I’d love to attend, but there’s no way I’d be able to swing it next year, or for the foreseeable future, really.
But if things work out well and there’s interest in making this a semi-regular event, every few years, every four ala the World Cup, or just every now and then, then I would hope to make it someday.
That’s putting the cart before the horse, obviously, but I just wanted to expand upon my “no, I can’t make it” vote and express an interest in attending something similar somewhere on down the line…
