The link between Flamenco guitar and ICT

this just hitt me, i was chating to a guitarist and i asked him what he does for a living he said :"I work in the ICT...Information Communication Technology.........Computers etc.....mainly software..."

then i tought, the other guitarist in our group does that , and our cajon player, and i know about 3 more guitarists that are in that kind of field.

this is too much of a coincidence.

People in exact/beat jobs...have some artistic/musically interests.

So i am courious anyone else here in that type of field ? and what are your toughts ?

You know me right? ex-Apple and Microsoft? There is a high corellation between computer workers and making music in general. In D.C. they reckoned about 1 in 10.

I"m in teh IT business and my duo partner sits right next to me in our office

In fact the first computer company i worked at, the guys used to sit around and jam on the guitars from time to time when in the right mood. Those sessions impressed me so much back then that i decided to learn to play guitar myself.

From my point of view theres a huge percentage of IT people who are driven into making music, probably to make up for the onedirectional property of our work.

Yes - I'm also a software engineer (hate that euphemism - like calling a garbage collector a sanitation engineer) too. I don't know what the connection is, but...

I began my professional career as an electronics engineer. When manufacturing left Silicon Valley, I went into programming. I have worked at five different companies and have found that 7 out of 10 programmers I have worked with also play a musical instrument. One programmer was a music major.

There's a guy in brisbane (australia) that my friend knows and he's a world class guitarist. We're talking up there with Nunez, Amigo etc and instead of touring the world and dominating the guitar scene, he sits on his arse and does computer programing
THIS MAKES ME WANNA SPEW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, i seem to make computers sick so i try not to do anything too scary with them, although it's people like me that keep you musician/computer freaks in business LOL

Perhaps it atracts the type of pple that pay attention to detail, whatever it is is more than coincidental.
