Just got one in from an iPhone. It works fine in full-screen and audio is clear so quality is not an issue. Just get those phones out and send me the vid.

That was excellent, Giacomo! Don't want to hijack anything here, but it was great to see you talking. First time I've actually seen the "real" you rather than your text posts. Cheers!

This was tough. I talk best with my guitar not my mouth. Also funerals are so depressing, and I have been to several sadly....couldn't help but sneak in some inside jokes to lighten the mood.

...yes i noticed that too!

i think its good, i am afraid i might have been a little too...i dont know what the word is but it looks like i am trying too hard, i might have gonna a little too much the other way ...it is damn hard talking on camera...and i didn't think u were allowed to smile !! once i pressed record i forgot everything i wanted to say or how to be normal

one sec i sound like i am reading from a script next like i am trying too hard...

but the sentiments was all sincere..Ron would have known that, thats all that matters (he probably would have laughed at me for being so serious and trying so hard )...il do him better justice and be myself more if we do a musical video memorial thread for Ron

Btw i am not ever showing anyone here my video Ac and Simon can lough at me but thats it ....spent 8 hours on it last night...it was like a Hollywood production...he actually had to cut it down cause i had like 50 seconds where nothing was happening on the video ...just a sad guitar song and a painting of Ron ..thinking back now...might have overdone it with that bit ..

I am gonna depress the hell out of his funeral il be the first to get kicked out of a funeral video montage for being too depressing ...." OH please not the Romanian from Australia !!"

All i can say the funeral gathering and Ron are lucky i couldn't find any white doves......have you ever seen the guy who's funeral it is hide his face in embarrassment

We have enough video tributes (in reply to Florian

Thank you all so much. We have more then enough footage for a video eulogy for Ron. I did a rough cut into the early hours today and will do another pass later.

I have had to edit them down to get all the key messages in as we only have a 10 min. slot.

As some of the clips were not shared here, I will not be making it available and I hope you understand my thinking on that.

If you are still working on yours and want it in, my deadline for final cut is tonight, UK time.

Florian has laid down a playlist for the funeral and I will be putting that together for burning a CD that will be used during the service.

For Ron. This is serious, so I came to the conclusion that I need to pay some respect to our friend.

The quality is really bad.. and I didn´t really know what to say. I just took the cam went to the roof and grabbed it. I hope thats ok.

Yeah, I could feel myself about to head in that direction. I paced around the house all evening and put it off till right before bed and did one take, which I hated. I didn’t even watch it all the way through, just looked real quick to make sure the sound was alright and had my old lady cut it and create the file. I could have done a million takes trying to get something I “liked” but I just realized “**** it, that’s me, that’s what I look like and sound like, that’s how I express myself. Just throw it out there.”

Everyone hates doing this stuff. No wonder they used to hire professional mourners back in olden times!

Your writing is always articulate and captivating, I am sure so will your tribute to Ron.

Saying goodbye at a funeral is viscerally unpleasant an experience. I chocked a few times in January, when at her funeral, I said goodbye to my mom, and made myself cry when I uttered the familiar words of our inside jokes.

It is a bit like praying out loud, and need to believe they will still hear us.

If we get another take from Doit (without the wind noise) that is all I have room for and even then I am going to have find space for another couple of minutes of video. Nice problem to have.

Thank you all so much. AC will be thrilled!

Tomrocker kindly offered, but I took it on because Ron, videos and me go back years and it is not too much. I also managed to get some time out from my client for this.

I Believe that Simon's personal touch is unique. Also he is Ron's friends' for Years when i was still reading the foro without even joining. Simon's touches will be full of originality i'm sure. i'll always be up for anything that for the sake of this site.

I second that, GJ you are as eloquent speaking as you are in writing. Good to read you again.
And I think it is great to have a chance to see a face behind the user names.

oh man. I´m sorry for the bad sound quality. As I told in the other thread, I need every minute for finishing up work right now. I have a deadline and its pretty close. Please take me as I am. The main message comes across I think. It was important for me to leave that message to Ron. Be it just here, its ok. Since you cut the videos, you could just take the beginning and the end and leave out the stuff you don´t understand. It´s ok,.. I need to fight through work now.

Yup, sometimes you just have to send some sort of message out into the ether, whether that adheres to any real sense of logic or not.

A close friend of mine died last year, and after a few days, when the reality of that news fully settled in, I sat down and wrote him a long email, thanking him for his friendship, saying a proper goodbye. We hadn’t seen each other face to face in five or six years, so emailing was the primary means by which we had kept in touch, and our friendship had actually kicked off through a number of long, soul-baring emails, so sending him a message is what I normally would have done when I had something to say to him.

Pretty rough typing that final goodbye and clicking ‘send’, knowing that that was last time I’d be doing it. Didn’t make me feel any better, didn’t make me feel any worse. I dunno. You put something out into the universe and maybe the energy behind the message or maybe the words themselves end up finding their destination.

I didn't want to make a video because I felt it would be hypocritical - I've only exchanged one or two messages with Ron (the rest were ignored, probably because I like to trololol).

You guys did a great job here. It's really touching to see all the members' contributions to one of the classiest characters I've had the pleasure of knowing. It makes me very happy to have found this foro.

Thanks to you all...

Thank you, guys. I had wished my first youtube video would have been of a performance on the guitar, not a eulogy for a friend. Perhaps, my role in this club will be to bring us closer, and organize more visuals through the available technology. Last time Rombsix and I exchanged emails was about youtube, and I was thinking to hold a webminar with their general legal counsel to discuss musicians’ rights, duties and … tricks to navigate and survive the digital stage.

Yes but thank you very much to you too amigo for offering your time and taking on extra responsibility, really do appreciate it mate.

re Simon, yes hes known Ron the longest, had a close friendship, .. it just made sense he got the right of way on this ..I didn't wanna presume he had the time from work but the fact that he did was brilliant, it was really nice to see him here a lot and communicate with him so often this last few days.

You're going to see more of me as I tackle a fresh approach to flamenco. I want to work much more on compás, chords, thumb work and rasgeados - which is at the core of the guitar, rather than fancy arps., picado and tremelo. This was something Ron was passionate about and I would like to see if I can do it. So, I will need some help.
