I think that should come with a warning label, a guy could give himself a hernia watching it, another 10 seconds and I'm sure my bellybutton woulda popped. The cutaway should have been the tipoff

holy ****!! they stole the local professional flamenco dancer's picture!! the woman in the picture in 0:16 is Maria Osende ,my flamenco dance teacher and she is real authentic flamenco spanish dancer. how dare they put her picture in a fakemenco video?? www.mariaosende.com

That guy is super talented, it really takes an insane amount of talent to make a video with such a beautiful woman totally unwatchable. Its like a kick in the balls every time the camera pans to him and his shirt

I wonder where he initially found the budget to put on such shows?
I think it's clever the way he surrounds himself with musicians of a higher level. His percussionists have very solid rhythm. They create a lot of energy in his shows providing a platform for him to do whatever he can musically. Then other good musicians fill up all the space and re enforce whatever he does.
It's mainly about his good looks and personality on stage. The music is tight enough. He reminds me of that Andre Rieu violin guy.
Those golpes on the guitar that the dancer responds to at the beginning are pretty lame though

Well, since this thread has no point we can go off topic..
I have a serious question to you coz u r in Toronto right now! Do you think its a good idea to go to Toronto during Christmas? Or is it just freaking cold and there is nothing to see and do? A friend of mine is going..and since I still have no idea what to do during Christmas/new year.. I might join. But I hope there is a wonder and I meet some nice people to celebrate these free days with....In the Us.. If I leave the US now I could get problems reentering the states... So..maybe not Toronto..

This video offends me.
To answer the question, no this is not flamenco.
Telling real flamenco apart from cheap knockoffs isn't easy for a beginner but one thing is ALWAYS true: If you see the guitar player wearing a cape, it is not flamenco.

normally i don't care about who does what...but this guy is just pathetic, smells of desperation to be a sex symbol, its Fabio on guitar lol...if the clothes and hair were just for the videoclip i would have understood but i have seen him looking like that before.....every bul**hit ignorance and stereotypical clique people in the west have about flamenco hes put in...sad thing is...i am sure hes been around long enough to see real flamenco...its not as if he dosent know....not as if youtube dosent exist in his part of the world....u would have to hear and see some real flamenco to try and water it down and rob it of everything that means something..
hes like the 40 something ,white, housewife, soccer moms sex symbol
lol what the f*uk was the tapping ? lol
the music, malaguena part is entertaining enough...because of everyone else...hes just playing the same licks to death which as KMMI77 said sound good cause of what they doing...
other then that it was great

its a shame u posted the video lol..hes likable enough, dosent sound like a complete tool and fair enough...wanted to make some cash with music...but its still crap
i understand his position he could never do it properly as flamenco, could never stand out...so its this crap, i cant even say flamenco "Spanish" flavoring or nothing...its like how badly do you want fame and money
but if willing to go that low to get it shouldn't be surprised at the lack of respect that comes with it..this guy is another level even from fakemenco......even most of them ...just relie on the music not the hair and the clothes and the over the top clique....

It's a shame more people aren't given the opportunity to do shows like this.
Can you imagine? Big budget, Being able to employ top level musicians to accompany you, Months of well paid rehearsals. I mean, There is a very good chance of coming up with something entertaining?
It reminds me of an interview with some band I saw recently on the television. The interviewer asked, "What have you guys been up to?" The band member replied, "we have been in the studio for the last 4 months working on our latest single" SINGLE!! four months in a top studio!! How many takes is that? No wonder it sounds tight

oh man...paid rehearsals that would be nice
i think we accept in here atleast....we have always had to do for ourselves...every now and then the big festivals come along but most of the time...we have to do it all fund it all and know its potential...and constantly trying to convince general public that its worth seeing it lol
unless u are great at getting grants...and i dont even know how that works

well i'm off to play for Simones dance class
good one, i like classes...except beginer beginer...that 1 hour feels so soo long...cause there big stops while teacher explains and u feel bad practicing while shes trying to talk
but the perk is that there's always new hot girls in beginers beginers...for a couple of weeks, until they realize flamenco is too hard and takes too long...about 50 start each semester...about 1 or 2 last till second semester...and its almost always not the hot ones

Simply put, it's not. Can someone bring this thread back from the darkside and post some real flamenco?
thanks, sir. I know nothing about flamenco and heck! I created an account here to learn and what? I get attacked? Don't treat me like an outsider, sir. Not cool. I don't know what is real flamenco, I don't know what are sevillanas, bulerías, alegrías and all... I hated flamenco but I started to appreciate it, just help me here. May I ask, Why u don't like the music in this video?
