Solea fingering- can you do this?

I post the above video because I can't find Chicuelo's video on youtube.

practicing solea falseta 1 of Chicuelo's entro(somethingsomething) video.

at the last bit.. there's this fingering (see picture)

Can you do it WITHOUT a capo?
Without a capo, unless I raise the neck up like a classical position and my elbow goes forward beyond the fretboard.. I can't do

and this is fretting it VERY unstably.

Without raising and the elbow going forward, my fingers can't even reach.

Can anyone here do it WITHOUT a capo?

cheers

yeah, but it's not easy...the spaces between the changes are there so your fingers have time to find their places...but i'll just stick to playing this one with a capo...

Ole!! that was great dude! the only disturbing thing was the rings+ tattoo, it just makes you look like a heavy metal guitarist

define "can do it" I can fret it (and also the 1 6 5, and no I'm not a giant, actually quite short) without altering my positioning that much, but to get there and fret it cleanly fast enough to actually play this I don't know maybe with a lot of practice.

Interesting.. I think for me its not size but what I'm used to. The more I think about it, I played piano for many years so stretches between 1 and 3/4 are somewhat common on left hand. Stretches between 2 and 3/4 are harder for me.

I dont find it too bad although my 3rd and 4th are at a bit of an angle, I suppose years of playing jazz chords helps , i could write some of them down that are much worse
heres one that is suprisingly common

i never liked this #9 chord in F but the brass section is so often in flat keys.

maybe practice that section with the capo on and gradually move it down a fret at a time .

I must have missed the part in the video where he does that but going by the tab I think I can do it. I haven't played that chord before but I think it would be stable enough to play while actually playing music. I do have somewhat larger hands though but I don't find it terribly difficult. I really don't know what advice I could give you to help other than just keep practicing and it will come. I've noticed though whenever I have to do any larger stretches like that, my thumb moves from the middle of the neck at the back to the bottom. So the way I play this it's almost like I'm pushing the guitar neck up from the bottom. There's no actual pressure or anything but that's where the thumb is. Anyway I hope that helps a little bit...

Good luck!
