RE: Navarro or Tomatito ???? (in reply to Guitarproject)
Not to be a downer or anything, I don't understand why you guys always discuss cheap or cheap factory guitars in the luthiery section. It seems more appropriate to the product review section. 'Cause one of the best ways to turn off guitar makers is to talk about cheap guitars in front of them. And I'm interested in talking about guitar knowledge to some extent as are others, but this kind if thing does not always interest me that much. Now that sounds rude, but luthiery is more than assembling parts or trying to make things cheaper.
Just saying, it's not the kind of thing we like to rise up to and discuss. Restoration and repair questions or questions about our own stuff and other fine art instruments are sooooooooooooooo much more fun to talk about. I'm not being negative just pointing this out.

I'm going to post more in the next week or two, I've been laying low because my upper back has been sore from the combination of building guitars, practicing music and working on the computer, so I dropped my computer use off quite a bit the last three weeks.
I have a '63 Manuel de la Chica here in the shop for some restoration work I'm thinking about putting up some photos of this guitar. It's got some curious details which might be fun to make a quiz out of. All the luthiers will see it right away, but others might have fun guessing what this or that part is made of.
1000 posts! Enough to build a fence around Ron's perverse humor!

Why pick this section of the forum to talk about which cheap factory guitar to buy? Do you want a luthiers opinion what to buy? Ok pick the one on the left it's always the better one due to the direction of the earths rotation and cuz we read left to right. Oh wait, I almost forgot it also depends if the dealer is right or left handed and whether or not he has a conjoined twin under his third nipple. In China they read backwards so if you buy Chinese you have to pick the one from the bottom of the pile personally at the factory. Hope this helps out with the decision making

I really think this video about the Yamaha factory is very depressing and non inspiring. I think these workers don't have a connection with the final product (a whole guitar) they just see: either neck, or head, or top etc. the whole day. gives me the creeps
