Ok, I feel it's time for me to leave the foro and continue on with my life. I just realized I may have done some wrong in my last 2 threads posting the Paco videos. I'm sorry if I caused harm to anyone. Anyway, I will still keep playing of course. Once again I want to thank everyone here on the foro for their support and for allowing me to post my videos. It was a great and at the same time a humbling experience for me to interact with so many talented guitar players here. I'll miss this place. Cheers everyone.
hey Juan are you kidding me !! man c'mon you know we all love you and we love your picados, it is not reasonable to leave like this did I miss something ? who bothered you ?
man, WTF?? its not like the foro is holding you back from having a normal life, its not like you are here 24 hrs , its not like you were forced to be here. have a life, but also just stay here and be like the rest of us, and dont just quit! how many hours do you spend on the foro everyday?
Don't go Juan. Like everyone else you are entitled to your opinion and the comments other people post in threads you create do not reflect on you. You could ask admin to delete the threads if you are unable to do it yourself.
I really appreciate all the support from you guys. Again, thanks Shroomy for the encouraging words.
Thanks Alval. Maybe I am crazy. I don't know. @DarkElieDraven: Thanks for the support man. I guess I'm just going through a weird phase in life now. Nobody did anything really. I guess you are right with respect to leaving in this fashion. I'll try my very best to stay connected with everyone here. It's been a great place for me I have to say.
@kudo: Instead of saying "continuing on with my life", I should have probably said taking a temporary break. I'm just a bit confused I guess right now.
@Pgh_flamenco: I understand perfectly what you are saying and I agree 100 percent. The foro has been very good but like I've stated previously, I'm somewhat confused right now. It doesn't mean I'll stop playing by any means. I have a couple of gigs in July but there is a touch of uncertainty. I don't know what it is but I will try to stay motivated and stay in touch with everyone. Cheers.
You are a great guitarist Juan! Your high level is clearly evident in everything you post. I also admire your humility within your interaction here.
I never knew of the effects this foro would have on me upon joining. But it has certainly effected me When the effect is negative a break is never a bad idea.
I just realized I may have done some wrong in my last 2 threads posting the Paco videos. I'm sorry if I caused harm to anyone.
That's utter rubbish jg!
Why was it wrong to post them? What possible harm could that do to anyone????
I think you just need a break from the Forum (and maybe the guitar) for a while.
Sometimes you can get sucked into things and get over involved in them while neglecting other aspects of your life.
As far as you being here goes, I regard you as one of the "super players". Man, that picado of yours is practically at Grisha level!!! As well as that you're a nice guy.
Just have a break.
Even Anders packed in making guitars for a couple of months last summer and went sailing in Scandanavia.
Believe me, this guitar stuff can really run you into the ground and get you fed-up and depressed unless you moderate it or balance it off with something else.
The professionals I've spoken to treat the guitar as WORK.
That is, they put aside so many hours a day to practise or arrange concert material and after that they leave it and get on with other things.
Amateurs tend to put every free moment into grabbing the guitar and working at stuff and eventually play themselves stale and feel unsatisfied and uninspired IMO.
As far as the Foro goes, sometimes I get fed up with it and take a break for a week or two.
Is there a guide on "How to use the foro properly?" JG ive never seen you in any flame war. The point is, if you wanna exit, you need to start a flame war first! Its in the unwritten "internet forum rules" and applies to all forums, not just this one. There are some topics i can recommend to you to get it going, such as old vs modern. Examples on how to do it can be found in old posts between Flo and Todd. But beware, there are also bad examples, like exiting without public flame wars and then returning for some post-flames for no reason, like nealf did. Flame wars have to take place in the public, not via messages/email. It gives more possibilities for the members to interact and pick sides, you know? :D

There is also the coming out of the closet style, like: Guy's I'm really sorry but.......I will miss everyone.....don't think I will ever return..... it would be too hard......memories....... still sad.....but I think I'd rather play country music.
yeah, you gotta exit with a bang, give some entertainment!
Juan - seriously, stick around. You're a great player that many of us admire, and we need more guys like you and less desk chair professionals Several guys have commented on taking a break from the foro - this is an excellent idea. Hell, I think it's a good idea to stay away from computers completely once in a while. I have been visiting forums for many years, and it's not hard to get burnt out or frustrated. Flame wars can be fun, but in general I find it's better for one's mental well being to just ignore the idiots - one thing is for sure, every forum has a few members you'd just like to backhand
Your contributions on the foro are always relevant and often inspiring. That said, sometimes it is nice to take a break. What's sad is when members disappear altogether, because it's very cool to follow how people are developing, as musicians, but also as people.
You've given us such a lot of great contribution to this forum that I don't feel like telling you not to leave us. Theres enough you left for us to study =) However, I really don't understand your motivation...
Btw: Some time ago I didn't write anything here and barely checked the foro for half a year or longer just because I didn't feel any motivation to participate. I don't think anyone noticed it... Suddenly I wanted to write something in here again so I just did exactly that. There's nothing wrong about taking a break (from anything except for one's work maybe) sometimes.
Juan, I love you so I want you to know that I'm gonna miss your guitar the minute you walk out the foro please don't go don't go don't go away please don't go don't go I'm beggin' you to stay.
If you leave at-least in my lifetime I've had one dream come true. I was blessed to be helped by someone as wonderful as you please don't go don't go don't go away please don't go don't go I'm beggin' you to stay
I been away.. not sure what happened, sorry to hear... i hope you reconsider..either way its been a pleasure and a privilege to meet you and watch you play amigo

Or Deniz and DOit
or anyone against anyone... ... at one time or another....it happens
Serious Jg il teach you how to throw a tantrum...if you gonna walk out i demand a bitter post... blaming people and pointing fingers etc...have a little bit of pride ....this positive, polite good bye is not working for me....walking out like this is like trying to slam the phone down on someone....on your mobile... or trying to slam the door in someone face as you leave the room ...but its a slide door..
Once again, thanks guys for being really supportive. Believe me when I tell you, I am not asking for any attention, but I really appreciate the kindness here. @Ramzi: You are one of a kind! I think you are a Genius! Seriously though, thanks for the song. I think I'm going to start getting emotional right now. Don't worry Ramzi, when you come to the States, I'll show you some cool picado licks. @Ron: It's an honor really to even be in the same sentence with Grisha. I know I still have some catching up to do before I reach that level of playing.(If I ever do... I'm happy where I'm currently at though) That Bulerias picado run by Paco he did was amazing. With some serious practicing though, lookout! Just kidding. Florian, thanks for the comments. I enjoy your playing very much as well. Honestly, I just think it's break time for awhile. Even though I don't know any of you personally, you guys are really a cool group. There is a ton of information here and frankly speaking, it would be foolish on my part to just leave. The title for this thread should be rather "Temporary leave of absence." Viva el Flamenco!
fair enough man, that's allowed, i look forward to being inspired by your playing again when you in the mood for being back...Todk and everyone else that said it is right, as a player or a human being they dont come any better than you, you do have alot of friends here.
