Guitar terminology

If the soundboard is called the "top," shouldn't the back be called the "bottom?" And conversely, if the back is called the "back," shouldn't the top be called the "front?"

And then there are strings. For years high tension strings were called "high tension." Now suddenly they're called "hard" tension. So shouldn't low tension strings now be called "soft" tension?

Just looking for linguistic consistency.

Don't hold your breath.

Couldn't the opposite of "hard" tension be "flaccid"?

What about the nut?

As much as I try carving one, I just can´t get it done by the life of me.

It always crumbles away the moment that I try squeezing it into the slut.
No to mention what happens with the remains whenever you put the strings on.

These luthier secrets, so hard to get a hold of.

Especially with the G-string.

Yep; all of the fiddling for a nutty action of just a couple of millimeters.
Makes you almost wanting to jump off the bridge.
