I originally recorded my CD distancias in 2001, it was a self produced release and I would sell it it concerts and local gigs as well as CDbaby.com. After a few years I was contacted by Armik's label Bolero Records inquiring if I was interested in releasing it on their label. Several colleagues thought it would be a great idea to help promote myself and the only real downside was that Armik did not think 4 of the tracks would work well for the "target audience." Oddly enough one of these songs is one of THE most viewed flamenco guitar videos on YouTube.com (a live performance of my Eb Bulerias "Paisaje Jerezano." The 4 tracks were replaced by more commercially acceptable rumba type material that had to be approved by Armik before the deal was finalized. I composed and delivered the 4 tracks within a couple of weeks and signed the contract with Bolero. I was sad about the original release being altered but the promise of bigger and better things made it seem like the thing to do at the time. As a result of the Bolero Records release of "Distancias", I received some great publicity and my CD was in stores all across the US and recieved some nice reviews. I remember the feeling the day I saw my CD in a store while out shopping with my wife and daughter and it was quite a wonderful day when my mother marched into Borders and grabbed the CD off the shelf and proudly walked to the checkout counter informing all in earshot that it was her son's CD. For these moments I give my deepest gratitude to Armik and Bolero Records.
After years of these 4 recordings sitting around not being heard (except for those 1000 or so who bought the initial release), I have decided to make these a free download here on this blog page. The tracks are encoded at a high quality 192kbps and I sincerely hope that they are enjoyed. Below the 4 song players where these tracks can be listened to before downloading will be a link to a .zip file containing the 4 tracks. Donations for the download are greatly appreciated and a suggested donation would be $5 US. The donation button located below will take you to a secure PayPal payment page. It is my pleasure to finally make these tracks available to the public and I sincerely hope they are enjoyed.

Can't believe these tracks weren't included. The Rondena is to die for. I feel very embarrassed about my very small donation now that I've heard them!!

Things I used to spell wrongly: rythm instead rhythm and guitarrist instead guitarist. But in case of the guitarrist i do it deliberately, because in german, as well in italian, spanish it is spelled with 2 rs and i actually prefer that.
The most annoying word combination is "not really", although i am using it either. Oh and i dont like people writing in small letters all the time

I just bought Jasons CD on amazon. Its pretty expensive... 21.90Euro.. huuh.. I hope the rest of the tracks are as good as the bonus tracks and not ruma-crowdpleaser..^^ I´ll get it in 2 days and I am happily waiting for it. Next issue may be Ricardos CD and the guitarrero if its still in print.

I told you, I buy Jasons CD "Distancias".
I bought it on amazon, got it some weeks ago. See proof picture. ...yes..thats really my hand...
I must say, nice CD. I like almost all tracks on your CD Jason. But the order and selection (regarding the denied now bonus tracks) of the tracks on the CD is obviously heavily influenced by Armik.
I like your Alegrias, Bulerias and Taranta the most! Why the heck are they the last 3 tracks?? All the tracks before are... very balanced to easy istening.
For the first track you should be shamed as the initiator of the fakemenco blacklist! LOL. hehe I was a little shocked listening to that from you Jason... Because you are such a great flamenco guitarrist. I think the answer to that is..you were young and needed the money, right?
You as musician should stand to your art and if one would try to take only several tracks to publish to put you a little bit different light than your whole art actually is.. Than you should send him to hell and publish your stuff on another label. From the viewpoint of today, I really think it was a mistake to leave out the fandango, solea, buleria... and put more Rumbas on the CD. (But what do I know about publishing music.. :./ )
You finally donated the bonus tracks, which is great IMO! Shame on Armik who influenced you IMO in a bad way, in the selection and order of the tracks.
You have done such great compositions..and he takes the easy listening tracks first, puts the most flamenco compositions to the very end and leaves out the other compositions that will interest most flamenco aficionados. That is very sad.
Taken all together including bonus tracks that I added to the CD on my mp3-player. Im very happy with your music Jason! OLE!
And please dont work with Armik again in future.
EDIT: Because I dont want to get me undertood wrong I repeat. I really like your music VERY MUCH Jason!

how do we know that its your CD or your finger ?
you could have borrowed the CD from a friend.
Hahha.. really? I dont remember the thumblength.. Well,.. how could I proof that its really mine? You can question any digital proof.. You must believe my word,...
Here a section from the amazon bill I got via mail.. I actually lend it to a friend who I teach about flamenco.. Hes very music interested. I gave it to him even without listening to the CD. I recommended it strongly to him because I know what a great player Jason is. When I listened to it afterwards in my mp3-player..I was as I told before a little bit shocked.. coz of the first track.. And I thought for some minutes that I lost my reliability about flamenco... :.O haha.. I told him about the bonus tracks.... Im so happy you offer them for free Jason.. hehe
[image]EDIT..I just killed the bill.. this is still the internet and Im paranoid. :./ [/image]

I strangely have a strict palo order which i go through when listening to a new CD. If i had to pick one track from this album it would be the Tangos! Incredible composition also with the violin. I actually liked one or two Rumbas in there. Very tasteful imo (for Rumbas).
