I get this album picture when playing in WMP. God knows where Flo downloads stuff from. But, yeah, it's different from the original on Morao y Oro. And it doesn't really matter!!

lol you guys are funny...
I am sorry i kind of dissapeared i was exausted...i am doing 2 workshops atm with a dancer from spain and one of the cajon players from the solo compas series..
doing Guajiras and Cantinas...but i am basicaly playing from 10 am to 9 pm at night...on workshops..privates, lessons...then we also have our time with them where they look at our own choreographies and make suggestions and give us ideas and criticize us..( and then theres also the stuff i have to practice at home for the next day...eg. tonight...the chords to Miguels Poveda Cantinas)
its great but man i am exausted....my hands are about to drop off...its finishing at the end of this week..
Its not me on the audio...sorry i didnt realize there was 2 versions of that Moraito ...i just have this one...i didnt check the tab closely since i never intended to take part( just asumed it was the same one)...just too much on my plate.. but i thought everyone had the same version and i didnt needed to specifie that it wasent me i thought it was obvious....sorry for the confusion...
Pimientito would you be so kind as to transcribe that picado for those guys ?...
Bruche it is not for me to decide amigo..it is up to you..but yes the whole idea of a challenge is so that it is a challenge...and anyone playing it allready before the challenge does have an slight advantage..
but i will not tell you what to do...I am just helping out with the organising part to get it started...i am not the boss...ask the guys you are compeating against..

Me neither. Where is your version from Flo? The album "morao y oro" has been deleted now so it sounds like a newer recording.
Im also slightly relieved to learn that it was in fact Moraito playing on your upload. You sounded exactly like a jerez gypsy here is the original that faucher transcribed.....Ill get on to the tab
Edit- Fauchers tab is correct for this version. Theres a note different in the other upload
RE: Challenge, Intermediate Thread (in reply to Pimientito)
My version is from 1992...Morao Y Oro...it might be a remake ?
i dont know if that helps any..

lol no i picked this for that reason...looking at the tab it seems eazly atainable but like i said earlyer the thing that will decide if someone wins this or not is special attention to detail..
thanks mate I listened to this version..
yeah the other seems to have more aire ...i hear applause at the end so it might be a live recorded version...but to be honest i think it might have stil been recorded in a studio and they added the applause...i dont doubt that moraito can do it that perfect live...but the sound the jaleo the audio qualitie is too good for it to be a straight live recording..but who knows...but each track of the album each note is perfect too

Weird! my recording is from 1992 "Morao y oro" as well. Mind you I bought it around 94 so its an original issue.
I was going to upload a slow version of the run with the timing broken down and then realised that took away the whole point of the challenge. I will say that Fauchers tab fits my upload perfectly. On Flos upload the run starts with little finger on 4th string 7th fret. After that you have to listen to it many times until the phrase sticks in your memory.

That version of Morao is live from some festival. Someone linked to the Narada compilation that is was on (Fire and Grace), but I believe the ORGINAL compilation that had that recording was from one of the "jovenes Flamencos" series from years ago. For sure his live performance is superior to the Morao y Oro version.

At least I had to re-learn it... Took me one day. But that doesn't mean I can play it beautifully yet
RE: Challenge, Intermediate Thread (in reply to bursche)
Bursche - It doesnt sound like much of a challenge for you if you can get this in a day.
You won't feel good about winning when there are real intermediate players struggling very hard to learn this. Why not let some of the more inexperienced players have a go at getting a prize and put yourself in the advanced challenge with players in your class?
RE: Challenge, Intermediate Thread (in reply to bursche)
It's up to you. Noone can tell you what you can and cant do and I think EVERYONE who is any good underates their abilities. If you think you are intermediate then please enter, but if you know you are semi pro level entering at an amateur level there isn't much point. There is no challenge in doing something you find easy
I remember a friend of mine who was the lead vocalist from the musical "Cats" going into a karaoke bar and sang so good that noone wanted to follow her. IMO anyone that can play this in a day or 2 is above intermediate level regardless of how long they have been having lessons.
RE: Challenge, Intermediate Thread (in reply to Florian)
OK, I was thinking about using the "bulerias sixes fast" practice rhythm for this challenge from this thread uploaded by Edgar. Of course I will have to slow it down to my level.
One really dumb question, should I feel the solid base whumps on the 10 and 4 or on the 12 and 6? I think it is on the 10 and 4? There is the occassional double base whump, assuming I am right, should I feel that at the 9,10 or the 3,4 or does it matter?
Would this be good to play the challenge over, or is there anything else better to recommend? At least this can accommodate the extra half compas. This loop is long enough to work without fiddling and editing.

Hello? Am I the only one still working on this???
Paging someone who knows the answer to my question if you please. Am I asking too much when we get 11 responses to "does a Bulerias falseta start on 1"??

Is my question even more silly?
It's not more silly, but perhaps it's more difficult! Just had a listen to the loop and I hear the bass on 12 and 6. Where there's a double I hear that 11,12.
But you know I'm in the beginner's challenge, so c'mon you other intermediates and have a listen to this loop!

Thanks for any replies...
Well it would be on 12 and 6, except the whole point is that it is 6's, so just 6...
RE: Challenge, Intermediate Thread (in reply to Ricardo)
OK, I originally thought it was on the 6 and 12 (yes I get the 6) but with all the talk about feeling the 4 and 10 in sixes that I thought that it might be there. I think I am overanalyze this stuff... trust the gut.
