Transition from Eb phrygian to E phr...

Hey, i'm learning the first few falseta from Vicente's Soleá "Córdoba" which is played in Eb. I'd like to use this beautiful falsetas as an Intro for my other Soleá Falsetas in E phrygian.
How can I transpose from Eb to E?
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Play the Eb stuff with a capo on 1, and when you're done with that bit, snap the capo right off, and continue playing without it.

Or, move the recording in Eb one half-step up (using some software), then use your ear to reproduce the playing as closely as possible in E.

Problem solved.

Don't be surprised, this is actually done in many live performances (not flamenco, but I don't see why you can't extend the logic to flamenco). There are things called "Trigger Capos" by Dunlop (which is what I use). They can be put on and removed SUPER fast, so it can actually be done.

Doesn't Vicente already modulate to E in Cordoba himself? Or am I confusing the piece?

The piece is played by Vicente with a capo on the first fret, in case you are not sure. PM me if you need help figuring out how to play it...

Cheers!

Personally I never found his modulation convincing, but would have pointed out that you could use it to transition any time you needed to, had you not finally realzied it yourself.

How so? Are you referring to "Córdoba", in particular?

I don't understood ricardo in this case. I always found Vicentes transition VERY convincing, one can hardly recognize while listening to vicentes recordings, that he changed keys all the time.

Its my opinion that's all. He basically takes a dissonant chord shape and it's a weird key jump. He could have done a smoother modal move where he uses the typical move from E phyrgian to E major via B7. THen move E ionian-> E lydian, using the open E as a drone. Would be super smooth.

But it is what it is, and I only pointed out that you can use exactly what he does if you must.
