Thanks for that, made me put it back on again.

Just as the fella with the double breasted suit gets up to dance?

Barullo.

Sean, No, I haven't heard the cd with Moraito, looking forward though.
Yes, Potito's album 'El ultimo cantaor' is great stuff but I prefer Duquende.

The guy with the full beard is "El Torta". He looks a lot different now. He's from Jerez and he's Manuel Moneo's brother (who appears with Agujeta later in the film). His real name is Juan Moneo. Do a search for him on flamenco-world.com and you'll find his albums.

He is truly one of the greats but his troubled past has kept him out of the spotlight and has limited his notoriety mainly to flamenco aficionados within Andalucia. It's been rumored that Camaron was a fan of his.

The recording he did with Paco and Vicente I think is Andando por los caminos, a bunch of others appear too, Moraito, Manolo Franco, Tomatito and more.

I really like the bulerias and alegrias on that one, the tanguillo has some nice things too.

His voice sounds like a 13 year old.

A good cd.

RE: quick question (in reply to Guest

I absolutely guaranty that the fellow in Carlos Saura's Flamenco that is sitting immediately behind Moraito, that has long shaggy hair and a large unkept beard is none other than Juan "El Torta" Moneo. El Barullo is the slightly taller and younger fellow with shorter and darker hair, who sings third in that buleria. I think his name is also Manuel Moneo and possibly the son of the older Manuel Moneo that appears with Agujetas which would make El Barullo (Manuel Moneo hijo) El Torta's nephew (I think).
El Torta now looks a lot more like his brother Manuel Moneo (who is gravely ill these days).

So yes, the bearded guy is El Torta and not El Barullo, I am certain of this.

El Torta at Flamenco-world.com

Check out the cover of his earlier album Colores Morenos as this was around the same time as Flamenco. As you'll notice, he looks a lot different now.

I just found this link, this should also help clear things up a bit.
link on the Moneo family

I thought that was the original question, the fella behind Moraito who sings?
According to the sleve notes with the video, it's El Barullo? The other guy is to one side.

No Jim, Sean was looking for the bearded guy standing behind Moraito in the first buleria.
I think he also sings a track on Moraito's Morao y Oro. Apparently Moraito was the one who helped him get himself cleaned up and sober, undoubtedly they are close friends.
