Probably psychological. For me my emotional state always affects my playing. sometimes food too. Make sure you get food and rest and then see if you play better.

Put very simply two things need to happen in the brain:
1. Sensory representation needs to become better defined (INPUT)
2. Learning new motor patterns. (OUTPUT)

It is normal when learning new motor patterns to go back and forth to the old ones, until new ones are established. (Just like anyone learning with or without focal dystonia). As said mood, diet, sleep etc.. all have an influence on performance.

I suffer from this same problem and I don't understand it at all ... sometimes my picados are fast and almost as normal then the other day they are totally messing up

that video I posted was my 2nd take, I did it another 3 times after and they were all worse than that 2nd video. No idea why.

But lets keep practicing!

and my M finger make problems go away too..
but usually I have to drive off quick after that.

hey holy,

if you're on facebook check this group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/9022753084/

lots of people with FD trying to help each other , there are doctors too

thank you so much orsonw

today I talked with a doctor, she had a patient who had some problems with his legs .. she said he always felt like falling when walking anyway I explained my problem and she recommended at least 7 hours of sleep daily and she also said that water is very important and staying away from stress is essential, actually i felt good after talking with her and wanted to share her tips.

good luck guys

RE: i finger problem (in reply to Ricardo

an interesting advice I got from a flamenco player with FD called Eric (not sure if he's around here)

quote:

Meditate. This made a big difference for me. Get yourself some structure. Sleep is crucial. No electronics an hour before you sleep and an hour after you wake up. Make it a religion. **** your phone and **** your email. Most of all, **** Facebook.

and actually i study computer science, so its random that i sleep with a laptop in my lap and i wake up with one

any thoughts or comments ? holy, orsonw and blondie do you guys use electronics alot ?
