Yeah, I know what both Henrik and Romerito are talking about. Some folks play too light and wimpy, and dont' "get it" when it is time to really dig in or play hard rasgueados or whatever is called for. It is more a "feeling" or musical attitude than a technique. Like when the conductor wants FORTISSITISSIMO DARN IT!!!!!! Like come on man play with some balls!
But on the other hand, I know what Henrik means too. There are some guys that play so heavy handed, you think the guitar might break. And in some cases, I have seen that happen too!!!! Or they play super fuerte all the time thinking they need to project sound, and they end up playing all stiff and tense and choppy. Sometimes music needs to be "pretty".
So the point of the thread is simply to share the experience, in hopes that whatever boat you may be in, you know that you are not the only one that had that "problem" and had the epiphany that it actually was a "problem" and fixed it.
For the record, I was told in Spain by one guy that I was "heavy handed" , and I was surprised because I know MANY guys that play generally much harder and louder than me.

Or that by sharing something that you thought really was fruitful, maybe someone else can grasp the concept and use it to further their own playing, even though they perhaps had never considered needed attention, or could be done differently with excellent results.
