because u realize what kind of place this would be if everyone offered theyr falsetas, exercises, chords substitutes, silencios, copolas

i told u anything u can think of before has been tought off and discussed before.

but it happens slowly at everyones own pace

Hi Romerito

I´ll go back to your original post.

I totally agree, but the other way round. I think there are many very nice flamenco related discussions and uploads, falsetas, compás, recording, strings, building etc.
The problem (as I see it) is that there are way to many posts not saying anything related to this forum. I think fun, monkeys, personal discussions etc is cool as long as you remember that this is a flamenco forum and not something else. Often we have so many posts saying nothing, or just blind arguments, that I wonder if the members are just posting crap because they have nothing else to do, and this I hate. Why.... Because I simply havent got the time to read all the posts and very often I miss something that I really find interesting, just because I get tired when I see the ´posts since last visit´page.
I have to work and fortunately its not on the computer, so I have a limited time that I can use on the computer, I have to cook, clean, walk the dog and somes even play my guitar and have a social life.

RE: Keep your opinions to yourselves (in reply to Florian

Personally i think the strangest thing are posts complaining about other posts (see now i did myself)

I mean they take up as much useless space as the ones they are complaining about....

When it comes to exercises i think there already are a lot of very good exercises here that romerito necroposted for example and the thread with grisha´s picado tips and a lot more, maybe it would be a good a idea to make these sticky ?

I dont know if i upset people with my "opinions" (cause i lost my 2 points ) but i think im sharing my experience and give a lot of helpful tips even though they seem to offend some people.

When i was taking the course with manolo sanlucar everyone was surprised about how little he played and how much he talked, but when i and the rest of the people managed to calm their eagerness to play, he had some really valuable things to say and a few of these things i have tried to share here.

Sometimes its good to also think about what you are doing and why.

to Anders post

lol theres a surprisse

I posted my explonation, either accept it or il leave and then we make it fair just for the new members and those that are conducting bussines here.

not necesarely those that have been here for a long time and given more than you could possibly ever imagine,

infact the very good things u enjoy at the forum, is because someone like me went out of his way and gave alot to make it the place it has come to be today.

U dont log in to say , " Hey great idea Florian , Last week i started the Group Alegrias" no u always miss those, but if theres any chance to have a go at the state of the forum, u always find your way here.

incredible. i have 100 good threads, one or 2 light ones a month, and that is the one u always end up on, its really eazy to kick someone while they are down isnt it ??

if u would have read the monkey post u would have known it started from a flamenco thing, evem tho it went ofcourse but not really , it was flamenco related picture jokes, and if u relaxed a litlle u might have even craked a smile.

but ofcourse that would have been wrong cause this is a flamenco forum and we should discuss only flamenco and your guitars.

ps. the monkey post had 899 hits and put a smile on the faces of atlist 10 members here, why was that bad again ?

I like the balance on this forum. I'm interested in the discussions, I'm just worried about people being offended. I would however like to see more in the vein of the flamenco-chords listing, and I'd like to contribute, but I'm also very new to flamenco.

Don't forget the luthiery section, it's excellent.

(Apes with mittens made my day. :-))

Love back at ya

About offending people, this is just a forum and if people get so touchy about a few words from people they never met on a forum, i dont understand how anyone would be able to face an audience that hates you or the general backstabbing and slandering in music.

and yes i agree , so would I, but just because someone dosent do that I dont like it when members turn and blame other posts for it.

if its not going more that way, is because someone hasent done it, dont shoot me because at the same time i happen to make a joke post for some reason some people enjoyed and joined in.

make that post u are interested in reading about and get people on there, and if they dont is because u havent captured theyr attention or interest at the moment in time, they not litlle kids here, everyone knows for themselfs what they wanna read and what they wanna contribuite to no need to guide them, no point turning around and blaming other light posts for it, cause they just eazy targets.

and i say all this having joined in and contribuited almost every idea romerito had, always offering nice words and feedback on audio threads, thank you on some tabs threads, can Anders say the same thing ?

Its strange when people dont post anything and when they suddenly do, its just to complain about other peoples post, as if they then made a big contribution.

good point, it makes one wonder what motivated that post and what use does it have?

Sorry any offense that anyone takes, but all this call for what amounts to free lessons kind of chaps me. One poster thought that 110. was an unacceptable amount to pay for 400 falsetas of his favorite guitarist! I don't know what it cost me to aquire the experience and material I have, but I do know it was in the thousands. Ask Ricardo what he's spent-he seems to have a lot of vids, he's been to Spain many times, etc. I would feel a bit weird about posting falsetas I learned from guitarists who are out there working.
they didn't give me permission to post their stuff on the net. I know some people don't have as much money as others, but expecting to learn flamenco from the internet seems like a futile pursuit to me. Some things need to be passed on face to face. If you get all your falsetas from free tabs and midi's how are you ever going to develop your ear? Reading about personal experineces, on the other hand, can be very helpful.

£110 for 400 falsetas by Diego del Gastor..... probaly good value I don't know, but a couple of points spring to mind.
1) Did Diego sanction the production of this book?
2) Did he or his family receive any of the profits from it?
3) Where all these falsetas Diego's creation, or where a lot of them 'traditional' and handed down to him by his peers?

oh, that's three points isn't it.....

Hola C,
I have shedloads of sevillanas but only on paper. I am too stupid to upload them here. Anybody got any suggestions? Any volunteers to put them up here if I post them to you (England)

So what about yourself dude. You as usual only know how to have a go at someone at a personal level. You like to polish your ego. Continue doing that wont make me unhappy, not at all, but could you please leave me out of your business, I´m not interested.

I dont join group alegrias, monkey pictures etc. Because Im on a modem conection and do not have the time to download, because it blogs my work telephone . I would love to, and maybe some other day if I move to a more modern place on earth. Where I live we´ve had mobile phone coverage for half a year.

You write:
"incredible. i have 100 good threads, one or 2 light ones a month, and that is the one u always end up on, its really eazy to kick someone while they are down isnt it ?? "

Whats up now. Paranoic? I´m not against you Florian. No way. I´m not even heading anything against you. Trust me.......

You also write:
"infact the very good things u enjoy at the forum, is because someone like me went out of his way and gave alot to make it the place it has come to be today"

Come on...... Do you take yourself serious?

Beside Florian, I actually started with being positive about the forum:

But maybe you didn´t read that because you are biased???

AAahahhh! don't leave Romerito! Your posts and contributions to this foro have been awesome man! I personally want to say, Thank You.

I myself have been mostly lurking in here because I'm new and don't feel that I have anything to contribute. But hey, I've only been doing this for a year. And as I get better (and with more experience), I plan on contributing more myself; I can't wait for that. And I'd really like to get something uploaded for you guys to pick apart, hehe.

Sometimes I won't post anything in fears of it sounding like a stupid question. Like "who is this guy?"

Florian: You are one of the main reasons that I come here. You have contributed so much here with all your loops and audio/videos etc...
And I appreciate your sense of humor... I love your stories about "the other night" hehe

Don't change guys! We are all human. I don't think there's a problem with off-topic stuff either. We do have the other sections to post under.

Ok... group hug.......

(oh, sorry )

THATS IT! I am Deleting all my chord posts!!!!

Ha, just kidding!

Not sure what you are getting at. What sub chords do you want for what cante??? Whose escobilla??? Thats a lot of specific stuff man. Why would I cram all that down peoples throat, that I dont' even know? I have no problem giving info on specific things, but not sure where to start with your demands?

Seems like you were mad about Mark2's post about sharing free stuff, or rather, asking for free stuff. (Mark was one other guy that gave chords in that chord thread remember). I am gonna tell Chusco you are putting up some of his chords and ideas and music on the forum. How will he take it?

Nah, I am just giving you a hard time man. Don't get all bent out of shape. Remember you first posted at FT and I redirected you to this forum because there was not much traffic or interest in your posts. Seems like you take it too personal if you don't get tons of hits, agreement, or feedback to your posts. Don't be like that man. I will give the reasons for your question why not a lot of feedback for modern chord subs and similar ideas.

1. Modern chords are considered not flamenco sounding by MANY. It sounds like Jazz. That was the whole arguement before. If you want jazz progressions, go to a jazz web. (you know I don't feel that way, just telling how MANY folks see it).
2. The stuff you want, and share, is more advanced level. The vast majority of flamenco guitar fans and students are NOT advanced. And they like traditional flamenco better too. Advanced players who would take interest in your stuff, have their own stuff going on. To share all their own chord ideas, that are not just standard, would be VERY tedious.

Like I said, I could give some detail about specifics, but just general ideas off my head, I dont' know where to start. So don't take it so personal man. Just be happy that a few folks are interested in the stuff you put up.

Oh yeah, and I have alzapua, compas, arps, and some other lessons over at FT for sale. That is not MY site. If I were to share the same info for free, I would be hurting the busness over there, and not being fair to the students that paid for them already. But to be honest, I am not holding anything back. The stuff in those short lessons I have discussed openly here. It is just that a video speaks thousands of words.

u bet, i dont like saying it, but if u wanna get down to details.

i came up with the group solos ideas, infact i mixed the first one, i had a thread where people that were looking for tab ( when we didnt have rules against it)would write what they need and i shared most of it with them.

i think the tread is " Make your request for tablature here" 5500 hitts" and while we were doing it , i helped almost every single person that asked for it.

i made loops , i made loops with counting along for beginners, videos, i shared exercises, and i put many smiles on many faces with a light joke.

i encourraged many people with they music

this is just of the top of my head

there , that is what i did if u gonna lough at me when i tell you, what did you do with those 150 posts ? so i gues u dont have to like me but at list do me the justice of not questioning my contribution. cause u nowhere near a position to do it.

even if all your 150 posts were the most amazing and generous and informative posts.
