RIP Jose Luis de la Paz

Just got the bad news. What a great player, did two shows with him and saw him at a tablao during the pandemic in 2021. He used to post on here.

Jose Luis Rodriguez, (jlclarinel...aka Jose Luis de La Paz)

Tragic news. A good person and guitar player. I saw on other media. Sad day.

I didn't know the bad new until I saw the tribute wrote by Jose Carlos Gomez to Jose Luis Rodriguez on Facebook. He is a great guitarist and a generous teacher who shared his techniques selflessly.

I saw/heard him at one of the best flamenco concerts I have been to here in Austin. He played with a percussionist who used both a cajon and a full jazz style drum kit. Both guitar and percussion were amazing.

Glad you got to play with him, Ricardo. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Sad news. Much too young.

The article I read said rapid cancer.
https://slippedisc.com/2025/01/cancer-claims-guitar-legend-57/

Never saw him live but I was a fan of his playing. His instructional videos were the best IMO, he seemed like a really nice person.
