I like the sound of that guitar and the guy looks a bit like Dr. Evil, so I’m going to guess one million dollars. If he sticks his pinky finger in his mouth when he tells you the price then for sure it indeed is Dr. Evil, in which case offer to trade him a couple of hungry sharks for it. He keeps them as pets. Just don’t stand on any trap doors when you do the deal and you’ll probably be OK.

Dear Lord, I laughed so much in the morning that I almost woke my son an hour earlier than he had to go to school.
If you need a cheaper guitar, which I totally understand, go for an Alhambra 2f. You cannot go wrong there. I will try to find a video of it Carlos Piñana sent me some years ago.

I flew to Sevilla yestarday and I returned today. I visited Mr Andres Dominguez in his workshop and had a chance to play this guitar in the video. Very nice instrument in my opinion but should be bought and played by somebody who has skills not by person like me who has zero skills. I bought cheaper guitar cause I remember people telling me that it is crazy to buy expensive guitar if one can't play and I agree.

I don’t think lacking in experience or skills should prevent someone from buying a guitar they like. You can develop your skills and grow into the instrument. But it sounds like all has ended well, as you’ve bought yourself a guitar! Congratulations!
Out of curiosity, what was he asking for the guitar in the video?

I don't know what are rules here on forum in relation to prices luthiers ask for guitars. I am not street smart person therefore I don't know if telling people price is against luthier business or he wouldn't mind if I tell people price. I don't want to do something stupid so that people think I do something against luthier's will. Do people here on forum share information about prices luthiers ask for guitars or it is frowned upon ?
by the way I forgot to mention that I also visited alvarez and bernal shop.

I think in this case it’s Ok to say. It’s a good sounding guitar and maybe someone here would want to buy it. But don’t do anything you’re not comfortable with as people can search on his name and contact him themselves if they’re interested. It sounds like you had a great visit to Seville, and you came home with a guitar, and that’s what’s most important.

i strongly recommend players with skills should check this guitar from video. To me this guitar sounds nice and i believe in the hands of good player this guitar would sound fantastic. I wish i was able to make this guitar 'sing ' but due to lack of skills I unfortunately can't. Price for this guitar was for me 2500 euro from ąndres dominguez. Maybe for somebody else he will reduce price. I dont know. i know he has slightly cheaper guitar 1700 euros but i didnt play this one.

Congrats on getting your guitar!

Aw man. I confuse easily.
So the guitar in the first video? Is that you playing? Is that what you bought?
Morantes link is an Alhambra negra? So is he being sarcastic?
Urgh.
Anyway glad you had a successful trip to Seville! Good job.
it is not me playing in video. I didnt buy this guitar but i played it yesterday for few moments. I believe it is good instrument for people who have skills.

Sounds like you had a good visit to Seville. So after all the questions, and travels, please tells us - which guitar have you bought?
Also how was it travelling back on the airplane with the guitar, were you able to carry it on as cabin/hand luggage?

I think it was money well spent. I mean, he joined the Foro saying he wanted to go to Spain to buy an affordable guitar, asked a ton of questions while researching it, then goes to Spain, meets a maker, visits some shops, and buys an affordable guitar. Have to respect that, dude put his money where his mouth is…

But Raf has not divulged what guitar he bought, for how much, from where, why he chose it, what others he tried, how he got on with the language barrier if there was one, etc. etc. All the stuff we helped him with.
I think he may have given up on lessons since John Walsh didn't reply.

Well… No trip report? Bet you guys feel cheap being taken for a ride. Oh wait, that’s the saddle thread. Giddy-up!

I prefer my flamenco guitar spicy, doesn't have to be fast, should have some meat on the bones, can be raw or well done, as long as it doesn't sound like it's turning green on an elevator floor.
