Personally I can play I A faster, but I am determined to use I M because I think it sounds better.

Here Santiago Lara uses M A. Maybe this is a tone choice, rather than a speed issue?
You can see here at about 2.00 minute.

His A M picado doesn't sound right to me.
I don't know the reason why he chose A M over I M, which is superior in every way.

Looks like pulgar up and down combined with golpe at 7:22-7:29?

That is called alzapúa….he is targeting a small group of strings, the basses, however his up strokes do catch the third string. Three notes (triplets). Again, time to get a teacher.

It is a very personalized technique of his that he does in every palo. I learned a siguiriyas version and put it in compas for folks that want to learn it (cuz most of the time his concept of compas is very push pull with this technique and the math doesn’t always work). This was many years back and I have it a lot better now, this was after I first figured it out as it’s very tricky.

Is this personalized technique also used for the falseta from Morao you uploaded in the Falseta Swap Shop thread?

The above I put into proper compas, but the original falseta was this:

Then I used the technique for my own falseta (second or long fancy one) por solea:

Which finger is used for accented down strumming? The index or middle or ring finger? This is done without golpe.

At 3:42 Paco does 3 down strummings in a row. Unfortunately one can't see which finger he's using.
At 4:38 look like he's using either AM or AMI.
At 4:43 is it the index finger only?

At 3:32

At 1:57 & 2:43

What technique comes after tremolo at 25:40 and how can we play it? I couldnt hear what he said. If I heard him right it's a classical guitar technique R. Montoya introduced into flamenco guitar playing.

Right. Like a three pronged hair pin, p on the bass, a and m together on two strings at the same time, and i separate if you need triplets. Niño Ricardo Solea arpegio demonstrates the triplet horquilla.

Can anyone notice he says la horquilla but ends up playing two straight 8th notes?
Looks like p and am are played together leaving i out.

Anyone seen other maestros play like this or is it Paco's individual technique?

At 2:51 Paco plays treble strings with the back of his nails before arrastre.

At 1:07 Paco does it again before pppima arpegio.

Virtually everyone plays this, you'll find it before the thumb goes through all the strings for a chord (or just the basses, depending on what comes after).

Also used before the start of tremolo.

The question is how did everyone come to know this? Copied from Paco?
To me it was impossible without youtube and this camera angle. I read on the foro you transcribe a lot. Do you include these small details in your transcription?

Do you demonstrate it in one of your Paco tutorials?

Rasego preceding pulgar is basic flamenco technique, far predating Paco.

Take orsonw's advice. I learned it during my first few lessons. We did solea. The little grace-note rasgueado is very common before marking a salient beat.

For example:

During the salida, from around 0:55 to 1:40, he does it on every "3" in there as well as on a few other beats. Now that you've realized it's a thing, I suspect you'll start to see/hear it everywhere.

This thread is bonkers! 😄

Is devil hand a real person? Perhaps he's ai. An ex member trolling? It all just feels a bit off.

Asks simplest questions, then corrects the answers. Then asks about the most basic techniques.. But comes across like an expert.

Come on man. Fess up! What's going on?

Yes I do, depending on the palo and its tempo, it'll most often be triplet 16ths or ghost notes.

You know I've been thinking the same thing for ages. That was taken in sanlucar in 2011 maybe.

But you've only been a member for 3 ish years. So how do you know how long that pic has been on there? For all you know that is a recent picture. Unless of course you've really been around here for many years.... ?? 🤔

😂👌 way back machine! I like that.

Ok.
Still... I challenged you to reveal yourself.
You decide to go digging into the past to expose how long I've had my profile pic for?

Kinda weird choice! 😄 😄

There's more to you than meets the eye im sure. But I like it!😉
