I was wondering, do you know of any of the moments performing live where any of the great flamenco players (the list is long, but I am especially interested in figures like Paco, Vicente, Gerardo) have had problems with compass and actually got out of it? Any first hand experiences, any videos on youtube?
I know of this video of Paco playing Cositas Buenas (not actually sure if and when he screws compass) and when he's finished he says to the other guys something like "and all the time I'm going with the sigiriya in my head).
This might not really reply to the question, but we've had discussions on here before about recordings of non-standard (12 beat) compas. e.g. the solea, alegrias & fandango of Nino Miguel + other cases by other greats including Sabicas. Non standard compas in various versions of Impetu have also been discussed here too.
