I have a pair of Schoeps CMC 6s, with both omni and cardioid capsules. They sound pretty good on guitar. I like the sound of the cardioid capsules better.

RE: New Antonio Rey album very soon (in reply to FredGuitarraOle)
Anyone listened to the album yet? I had a listen on Deezer today and my first reaction was disappointment. I guess Alma was a hard act to follow, but nothing I heard here came close. The words "Lift music" wouldn't keep out of my head.

OMG did I here English letra's slipped in there?
Yeah I downloaded the album. The bulerias "Turkey Man" is the best track ;) His playing is incredible as always, definitely my favorite guitarist the past few years. I like some of his lines in the rumba tracks. Like Ricardo said, we've already heard what he has to offer by now, minus a few palos.
Yes I get the elevator vibe, but I think all of this albums have this aire. Not my fav, nor his choices for cante. The first two tracks sound a lot different compared to how they come out in the live Russia Concert with just guitar.

Has anyone seen this for sale as an actual CD yet? I hope it's not another MP3-only release; that trend is very distressing for those of us that collect (or just enjoy) CDs... :-(

Dude, you gotta just move to collecting MP3's because in a couple of years I think CD's will no longer exist. Vamos!

I think you're probably right but it's very sad and makes little sense. These artists spend so much time getting the sound of their recordings perfect, and then they release them in a compressed, "lossy" format like MP3. MP3 compression throws out a lot of musical information. Sure if you listen on your phone or a low end stereo, you'll never notice. But if you enjoy higher fidelity equipment to listen to music, MP3s sound much thinner and flimsier than CDs. If artists are going digital-only, they should at least use a lossless encoding format. MP3 is not a suitable format for archival/reference quality.

I know it's frustrating, especially nowadays when digital storage is plentiful and cheap and we don't need compression. I like to blame Apple too. I'm probably going to sell all of my Audiophile gear because it's going to waste these days.
