Jerónimo Pérez

Hola

Just had lunch with Jerónimo and family, including the new baby (they come to Cádiz from time to time and the last time Carmen was 7 months pregnant). He was telling me of his 18 month waiting list, approaches from Guitar Salon, his workday from morning to night.

Guitarreros have a hard time until the moment of recognition and then few people know how many hours they have to spend, just to keep up.

Seems that the special guitar he promised to make for me will have to wait . I think Miguel Salado has 5!!

From the family of the best carpinters of Algodónales, he has an unparalled knowlege and collection of wood, including the cypress cut down from the cemetary. It will soon be hard to buy one of his guitars.

Jero was an absolute gent to deal with over the time of the commission and after wards, asked me a few times after receiving the guitar if I was pleased with it and I am delighted to find about his latest addition to his family and success as a guitar maker.

For the record, I f*cking love the guitar he made for me.

Hi there,
Didn't you have a Pena Vargas?
How would you compare the 2 guitars?

Who is Peña Vargas? My only flamenco guitar is my Gerundino.

Sorry Morante, I meant tijeretamiel...He sold me a nice guitar in the past and my understanding is we can have quite similar tastes..
