flamenco as a weapon
My next door neighbor is building a garage right near our fence. His brother is a contractor and has leant him a backhoe, which he runs 8 hours a day. We don't get along and there is a bit of history. I respect the fact that the guy has the skill to do the work himself, but don't really want to hear his construction noise all weekend. And who needs a backhoe for SIX freakin days?? Knowing most Amercians absolutely hate cante, I launched an attack with Camaron con Tomatito. I'm aware that Camaron is relatively easy listening because he sings in tune. I'm saving the heavy weapons - some of the singers who are, as Randy Jackson says " A little pitchy" for future attacks. So far it seems to be working-today is the first Sunday the guy has taken off for a while. It only took four replays of the Camaron CD. I've been using a little boom box, but have a PA ready.........
Don't hold back on using the heavy weaponry, I heard that on the third Agujetas martinete in a row those kind of neighbors begin to suffer from agujetas and as a consequence cease to continue their works. This one is fatal on constructors. Our Leñador is immune to those kind of tactics but he is an exception.

Wtf is he digging that he needs it six days in a row for a garage?? I dig a 5,000 square foot house on a flat lot in about 3 days..... At least he's not driving piles. Even I felt bad for my clients neighbors when we were doing that. Lol
Btw check your localities construction hours, your allowed to call the police if he's outside of those and the police will come.
For a more lethal weapon, one that will likely send this obnoxious neighbor to the asylum and rid you of his meddlesome presence for good, play at a blasting decibel level a "rap" recording over and over. Be sure to muffle this "rap" (I refuse to call it music) with ear plugs or phones yourself, or you might end up in the asylum with your neighbor.

An intense weapon might be some the cante off the old "home made" Diego del Gastor videos. Turn the bass all the way down the treble way up. If cante is the solution, they might be begging for mercy after a few hours.
You need a real battle cry. I suggest “Anda Jaleo” and here are my reasons. The Paco de Lucia "Anda Jaleo" thread reminds me that this song has an interesting history. Lorca’s song was supposed to be based on an old song from the mines. He collaborated with La Argentinita to produce a pretty version with castanets – you can find it online. Several classical singers did versions – I like the one by Victoria de los Angeles best. But with new words this became an anti-Franco song in the Spanish Civil War.
The words might be lost on your neighbour but a continuous loop of Carmen Linares (original words) might do the trick – I do like it though.
I'm going to work my way up to Agujetas. I'm thinking some Bernarda might be particularly effective. I have that Carmen Linares cd but to my ears it sounds way too good for the later stages of the conflict. Checked with the local building dept. and the permitted work hours are 9-5 on weekends....
Rap is something I thought about, but agree it will result in friendly fire without serious ear protection. Martinete with an anvil seems deviously appropriate. It may have to be used in the final assault.
