Ricardo,

that was an excellent breakdown. I already understood abot half of that, but it filled in the other other half. And confirmed that when dancers and guitar players discuss antos an antas much beer is still needed.

And also when Tientos is played for baile in F#min taranto key. Once I spaced out and told a dancer nice Tarantos....she said "Tientos stupid." I had been checking out her ass more than the cante.

I don't like the Bach Cello Suites played on guitar, but I never tell people NOT to do it. I just tell them it is morally and ethically wrong, they will go to hell and the dick will fall off if they play them.

I want them to play them if that is what they want to do. I'm not here to put people in jail. If they have to tremolo so be it. There are really just two taboo things that I don't care for, tremolo and cello suites in a changed key on guitar. I think that is pretty reasonable considering there are people who wipe out whole swaths of modern music as decadent and worthless.

I have two small innocent hang ups, otherwise I am an open book. If you defy my hang ups you may receive one thousand lashes with a wet noodle.

And not a lash less!!

The dance por tarantos is usually finished, if not started, por tientos/tangos. Dancers usually qualify for the joke of " How many dancers do you need to change a light bulb?"

None, they'll make the guitar player do it.

And then when the lights are back on they will critique your light bulb changing compas, and ask for a falseta while you are still on the ladder.

Yeah, but my recording is from 2009.
I´m sure that if Stephen wants to use any of my recording he can just take out my tremolo part.
Flamenco solo guitar pieces are just a row of falsetas and in freeform fandangos (taranta is a freeform fandango) there´s not even anything in between the falsetas. They can be swapped around like everyone feels like.
I´m sure you and most others know that so its just said in general. Not trying to be pedantic.

If Stephen tremolohater got sick when reaching my 3rd falseta then I´m very sorry and after reading his above post I will never say that I absolutely LOOOOOve bach´s Cellø suites on viola or violin and that IMHO just gives the suites that extra kick...

I wish I had more to add to this thread but I've never studied tarantos, I'm book marking it for when I'm ready though.

Got our very own Dudnote playing Tarantos on my guitar in my living room before we went to see Iron Maiden. Great show!

Not anymore...now that Dickenson can just fly the band pretty much anywhere in the world with their private owned commercial jet. See movie "Flight 666".

The guitar player will ask the cantaor to do it, in case he should damage his nails.

I don't think I still have Juan Martin's instruction book from many years ago, but I still cite the part where he said a guitarist must never wash dishes for fear of damaging the nails....

...even though some of my friends complain that I have claws of steel.

That's what it sounded like in my head, before I went and ruined it.

Thanks for that one Lenny.

@Ricardo, Flight 666, good insight into a very professional act. But they somehow just fly right over the Caribbean, so you still have to make tracks to get to see them.

Great gig! Band in top form. Quite a lit of oldies. Eddie had his heart ripped out and thrown into the crowd. Janick Gers was a human whirlwind. The others were smoking hot. Children of The Damned, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Number of The Beast (with a 30m high goat)
