Teaching in my workshop
A member of the Foro asked if I would work through a flamenco guitar build with him in my workshop and we agreed on the cost. Here is Scott spoiling the mystique I've cultivated around bending guitar sides--he got it right the first time.

It would be wonderful if we were building in the same town and could go out for tacos (or sushi) for lunch together. I guess all those builders in Granada have it made in terms of camaraderie.
I recently discovered something along those lines though: I've always wanted to learn flint knapping--hasn't everyone?--so I can make Clovis and arrow points, and there is an organization here that meets regularly to knap. Flint tools whichs special design in accordance to the individual task couldn´t be improved until today. 200 000 years old speers that rival todays computer calculated specimens for olympic games. ... 5000 years old bricks in Harappa that have the same dimensions like todays, as no other sizing turned out any better ...
Seems to me, just like you have to wonder about todays bovinity despite all info and data available, just as much vice versa you got to wonder about actual advance of ancient wisdom.

Quite a few people do this in the UK. You have many choices and I guess you would only be limited by your time.
Although I don't advertise I do teach guitar making in my workshop in Bexhill. I am toying with the idea of a two week intensive course. I am looking for a Guinea pig!
Pablo Requena is a great teacher probably the best I have come across. He teaches from his workshop in Plumpton East Sussex and in Seville in Spain. I think he teaches a 4 week intensive course in Plumpton.
Andrew Davidson is the closest guy to you who teaches from his workshop in sunny Totnes! He is probably close enough to you that you could part time build there over a period of time which is probably the best way to do it if you are time and money limited.
Oh yeah of course. I kinda rejected that idea though as it is the most expensive and longest course out there.
This was the first course I looked when I wanted to become a guitar maker and soon found others offering far better courses when it comes to guitar building. I think they do everything the long way by that I mean everything by hand and no power tools what so ever
I would kill to go to an 8-12 week course and build my own instrument but being a working adult makes it impossible to give up that kind of time, I struggle to get a week to myself without business going haywire. Who are these people that can just give up 12 weeks of there life to go make a guitar???? I'm super jealous....... Maybe I should see if German Vasquez would be interested in a paid teaching thing, then I just go a couple times a week after work....
