Squash Tournament of Champions in Ne...

I don't know if there are any squash players on the Foro, but I love squash and have been playing for decades. I have been in New York the last three days attending the semi-finals and finals of the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, with an all-glass squash court set up in Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal. I come to New York every year to see the semi-finals and finals of this tournament, which is among the top four or five squash tournaments in the world. The finals were held last evening, and it was terrific squash. In the women's final Nour El Sherbini (Egypt) defeated Amanda Sobhy (USA) three games to one. In the men's final Mohammed El Shorbagy (Egypt) defeated Nick Mathew (UK) three games to two. So Egypt reigns in the Tournament of Champions this year. As I said, great squash. Bill

Judging from the photo, Dudnote, they would never qualify for tournament-level play. They lack symmetry and don't have the spherical shape required to take advantage of the racquet's "sweet spot." Moreover, you would have a very difficult time hitting a "boast" shot off the side wall ending in a corner drop at the front wall. My advice would be hollow them out and let them dry into gourds, at which time you turn them into Mexican-style maracas to be played along side your flamenco guitar, thus creating a new form of Guadeloupe-inspired "fusion" flamenco. Bill
