The more I think about it, the surer I am it should be Wikipedia:

Pro

• Everybody and his dog already knows about it, and has access to it.
• It already has quite a good and extensive discography that would merely need some tweaking*.
• The existing format looks quite reasonable.
• Hyperlinks pretty much obviate the need for an independent relational database.

Con

• If we’re to get Pimientito’s cover photos in, he would (I think) have to put them into Wikipedia Commons, which is a moderate amount of work.

Have I missed anything?

I meant structure it for the Wikipedia XML format otherwise someone will have to type it in all over again. Not sure if they accept API submissions but they might accept a file load.

But a good chunk of the data is already there, structured. Wouldn’t simply editing be easier? A lot would be copy-and–paste…

I think its a good idea too to update the wikipedia, if you are prepared to upload the data. It will need more than a "tweak" though. We have triple the material. I would like to request that the new data is properly referenced to Mark Shurey "Pimientito" and Foroflamenco and linked to this thread.

Im still tying up some loose ends so I will keep posting updates over the next month or so. Meanwhile I have listed all of our new data into a complete discography (I tried posting a document file but it wouldnt let me)

I looked into it and Wikipedia do not accept XML file import without Sysop privileges, so someone is going to have to take the list and type/copy them in manually obeying the Wikipedia markup language and meta-data. Not trivial.

I have a few bits and pieces I need to ammend too....also to add a few more covers to items which are listed but not have a visual reference. I will catch up over the weekend.

Paul~lets leave the wikipedia idea for 2 or 3 weeks. I will add a few more bits and pieces and make any corrections. I can mail you any photos of covers you dont have or need again. Meanwhile you could always add a link to this thread?

Hard to read because even copyright info is in Japanese. Original release is (c) /(P) 1983 CBS on Columbia records, and the Japanese company is called SME records, Master sound. I can't decipher all the numbers with Japanese symbols. Interesting to note the disc though says (c)/(p) Sony japan 1982.....not sure if that is a mistake or what. Numbers in a box say 01.3.23(83.6.1). THe liner notes I can't read are dated 1996.

Also, I have a compilation that contained the dry mixes of Duende tracks and entre dos aguas is the newest track so I think it is Disco de Oro possible or something like it with entre added. But here is the info:

Thanks Ricardo. I will update the list with the extra pieces.
Flamenco, Flamenco was released in Spain in 2010 according to IMDB.
The DVD in the 2010 live concerts is part of the 3 disc set so I didnt think to list it seperately
CD 1 is numbered 0602527908007

2 more unlisted 7" singles by Pepe de Lucia. Paco is credited as "musical director" but he is clearly playing the guitar part on the tracks. Bass and Percussion players or not credited but it sounds like Carlos Benavent and Rubem Dantas.

This next item definately belongs under the Miscellaneous section.
I found it at a rastro (second hand fair). Its an old 8 track recording of Fuente y caudal. I realise by posting this that there will be many members here who have no idea what an 8 track player looks like. 8 track was popular for a while in the 70s before audio cassettes became the normal. Because you could record a cassette yourself, the 8 track kind of died out although people did have them in their cars for a while.

...anyway thats a whole other topic. I have no idea how many of Pacos works were available in this format.

The last couple of items for now.
First is another of our Camaron 4 track EPs already listed. 1970 PHILIPS 62 24 005

Next is another 7" single by Niña de la Puebla with 2 tracks acompanied by Paco.The odd thing about this disc is that the guitar part on the bulerias "El Escultor" is credited to Eduardo de la Malena on the disc. I thought it might be a different version but its identical to the 1964 recordings on the LP and EP. If that wasnt evidence enough one of the palmeras shouts "Olé Paco" after the second Falsetta so its a labeling mistake by the record company. Im hoping that this now completes our Niña de la Puebla list.

Finally a beautiful 1984 re-issue of Hispanoamerica with a nice cover photo of Paco. Thats all of my loose ends tied up for this week. Hoping to have the discography complete in another week.
(Although on April 14th I said "Very little left to list now. I think we have most of it collated"....

They are the 4 complete black and white videos that look like he was playing in someones kitchen. The first is this Taranta, then bulerias, soleares, tangos then a concert version in black and white of his Zapateado....they are all on youtube.

Quite a few loose ends to tie up this week.
Starting with Ricardos post, a great duo track from the late Brazillian guitarist Rapheal Rabello with Paco de Lucia. Track 1. "Samba Do Avião" ("Plane Samba")

Next are 2 more additions to the Niña de Puebla colaborations.
I found these discs over the weekend. The first is a compilation of tracks by Niña de la Puebla and Luquitas de Marchena. Paco plays on 4 tracks and Ramon on 8.

The second is a compilation of various singers with a track by Paco and Niña de la puebla "Tengo que poner Espia"- Malagueña. I didnt realise this before but Niña de la Puebla and Luquitas de Marchena were married in 1933 and they also had children who were great Flamenco singers, both Pepe and Adelfa Soto were their offspring so the second compilation album has four members of the same flamenco family on the cover.

We have already listed the two LPs with Niño de Barbate and Paco de Lucia. Here is the cover to the fist one (TIP 24 56 016). The cover to the second (TIP 24 56 017) is pictured on the reverse side. The price sticker on the back is 180 pesetas which is a little over 1 Euro today.

These next LPs are different issues of already listed material. The first is a 1985 re- issue of Enrique Montoya y la fabulosa guitarra de Paco de luica. Whats strange is that the original DISCOPHON album has 12 tracks and the re-issue only has 10. The tracks "Dueño, Soy tu Dueño" and "Nostalgias Tucumanas" are missing.

The next is LP is an earlier release of what I thought was a compilation called Gitana OLYMPO L-106. I have stumbled across the original release of this album and we can see its actually the soundtrack to a movie. It also contains more tracks than its later reissue. The original album has 14 tracks compared to 12 on the re-issue and those extra tracks are "La Caña" and "Seguirillas de la Muerte" by Paco de Lucia, Ramon de Algeciras and Manolo Carmona. I have not found those tracks elsewhere.
This is a very lucky discovery and an extremely rare album.

To complete our Rocio Durcal section are 2 more Christmas EPs.
They appear to be either promotional records or maybe even Gifts for PHILIPS workers since the message "Philices Navidades" appears on both covers. The inside sleeves shows pictures of Philips Record players, TVs and radios. Both compilations contain the villancico "Alegria en Belen" with Rocio Durcal and Paco de Lucia.
